Default Birth of Tahlia Skye

Well i hav been on bubhub for a while so i thought might be time to post my birth stories, i will start with baby no1 DD: Tahlia Skye

It was wednesday 28th november 2001 and i was 2 days late and arrived at the hosp to have the gal inserted. It was 3pm when i had the gel and had to lie in bed for 1/2hr to get it working. Well i started feeling period pain straight away and it was constant. This pretty much happened all night but i managed to get a couple of hours sleep with the aid of a sleeping tablet and hot water bottle.

6am the next morn i was taken to the birth suite as my GP/OB was coming in at 730am to break my waters and insert the oxytocin drip. When my OB arrived i was 3cm dilated YAY at least that period pain wasn't for nothing. He broke my waters and hooked up the drip which was slightly uncomfortable then about 5 mins later WHAM my first big contraction, followed by another.

The midwife suggested i have a shower so i agreed and stayed in there for about an hour. When i came out about 9am ish the midwife suggested i have some pethidine and a spa i reluctently agreed. I didn't like the pethidine one bit it did nothing beneficial to me just made me feel out of it. Anyways i was wheeled to the spa room and my mum and sis went to gat dh and themselves some breakfast. Befroe i got into the spa i went to the loo and had a really big contraction, what i didn't realise at the time was the begining of stage 2. Anyway the midwives assisted me into the spa and turned it on, then straight another huge contraction and i stood up as i did the membranes fell out (sorry tmi) and the midwives said so much for morning tea this baby is coming now! luckily my mum and sis just got back as i was wheeled back to my birth suite. I was helped onto the bed and the midwife went to ring my OB 10 mins later my beautiful baby girl was born.
She was wrapped and put onto my tummy then my sis barged in and asked what i had and i had to ask the midwife they said it was a girl and all i could say is she's got my nose! lol My OB arrived about 10mins later just in time to stitch me back up Tahlia was 7lb3oz and 46cm long and had a head circumfrance of 33cm, she was and still is absolutely perfect and beautiful.
