We have switched the forum back on - but we are still in testing phase, so please be patient with us. The forum may be slow initially but should speed up soon. If you spot any technical errors, post them in the technical issues section towards the bottom of the forum. We'll be working hard to get everything working perfectly as soon as we can.

What is the difference with women in bikinis on the front of Mags and whats on Tv? Look at the Beauty and the Geek ad on tv? Can they add that to the petiton? That to me is worse, as it's on TV in our homes.

I won't be signing it. What's next banning all sports magazines that show people in swim wear? It's all gone a little bit silly now hasn't it.

It's not about banning people in swimwear - firstly it is about placing these publications out of general view where children can access but people who still want to buy these magazines can buy them either wrapped in plastic or from an area by-request. Secondly, these magazines show a bit more than just swimwear (more commonly lack of), it's the provocative poses, wording of the article titles and general derogatory nature. I'd suggest you visit your local petrol station and check out some of the titles on offer, particularly "Nuts" magazine - that pretty much sums up the whole point of this petition!

I believe what is silly is the portrayal of women as purely sex objects. The poses that the women in these magazines are asked to strike are just soft porn. Everyone has to look at those images, and once something is in your head, like the image that all women are worth is how F-able they are, well, It's very hard to retrain the subconscious.
