    Default Amazing women!

Today i had the priveledge of meeting some wonderful women that homebirthed here on the sunnie coast. Today was the first day i had EVER spoken in person to someone that absolutely loved their whole labour and birth experience. This was just totally amazing to me. Normally at mothers group we have a whinge and compare horror birth stories! So this was a completely new concept. I felt so honoured that their shared their beautiful stories with me and can't wait for the opportunity to give birth at home.

    Just wanted to share

Empowered, i really recommend talking to others who have given birth at home if that's what you desire, even for your partner to hear about it. These women were just so content and blessed to have the beautiful birth they wished for. Definately empowering stuff and also realising they are just as normal as me and if they can do it, i can! It was very inspirational!

I can't wait to hear all about your story too Empowered, also the two mothers i met were first time mothers who birthed at home and it was just incredible.

I can't wait to birth my next baby at home. It is going to be a fantastic experience and I'm excited just thinking about it. (I'm not pg or even TTC yet!)

i have chatted on forums to other woman who have done this as well as done a lot of reading. DH is very supportive of this too, which is awesome, it would be very hard if he wasnt, as i would be doing it anyway.
I am looking forward to sharing my birth story with you all too. We are recording it too, for if anyone wants to see, ill share

Hey Phin, same here, i am so excited and we are not TTC just yet, but can't wait to give birth. Also will be giving birth in our brand new home which is also extra special

Empowered, i would love to see the video if you share it. You could put it on youtube aswell if you wanted to. That's also great that your partner is supportive, it would be very hard if he wasn't. One of the ladies that i spoke with's partner didn't like the idea of a homebirth at all and was playing computer games the whole time she was in labour (pretty much the whole time) and now he absolutely raves about how great it was that she gave birth to their son at home. Men huh?! lol

lol men alright, my DH wants to be as involved as much as he can, eg catching Lucas, cutting the cord once the placenta is out, all of us having a shower together after, you know, that kinda stuff
    Its going to be beautiful.
Happy to share the vid, will put it on you tube prob, im not sure ill be allowed to post a link on here though, is that allowed mods?
Was thinking of blurring out my face though, just in case someone who knows me and i dont want to see it, comes across it.
Who'd have thought huh? Woman being excited about giving birth, its kind of funny huh, but i really am excited.

its so important to have support in your birth choice...so glad you've find some woman to chat to irl.

Even after having a few homebirths, I find it important to hang out with homebirthers. Birth happens its not a sickness and being around woman who understand this is a breath of fresh air...

its great to hear how inspired you are

When I was about 38 weeks pregnant in Ireland, this local woman comes up (with her gorgeous accent) and says, "and are ye lookin' forward to yer labour?" It blessed the socks off me. I thought, yeah why shoudn't I look forward to it? So different from the attitudes I'd met so far.

Yay Vee, so glad you've found a nest of support.
