    Default close age gap vent

Sorry, I've just got to let this out

If 1 more person tells me I'll be busy come Aug- I'll scream
It's really getting to me now just how many people- friends & strangers- feel the need to tell me how busy I'll be- really? Would have thought 2 babies in 13 months was easy!

And as for the lady I met Sat night at a party who asked me if "I was stupid" having my babies so close That's just plain rude imo.

Thanks for letting me get that out.

Some people come across as so stupid sometimes, don't they?

Honestly I don't think it matters what the age gap is. Someone is ALWAYS going to come out with the 'busy' comment. Mine will be just under 2 years apart and I've been hearing it too.

Jeez.... perhaps you should ask them at what time do they think that you wouldn't be busier adding another baby to the family

I think they are just searching for something to say! But its still a silly comment!
18 months between my two, and it is lovely, I wouldnt have it any other way.

people have no right to call you stupid. I'm about to ttc #2 and i have a 4 month old daughter(i'm also bf so don't expect to fall too quickly). I'll be expecting comments about the close age gap when i fall preg but i won't be listening.

this is your chance to practice ignoring the comments coz when they're born all you get are the rhetorical questions like "wow, you're busy aren't you" or "you've got your hands full haven't you?" it's like DERRRRRRRRRR

must say it shocks me at first.... and yes you might be busy.. but you would be busy with two children no matter the age gap!

soemtimes... like you said.. the close the age gap the better! as you havent jsut left one stage and doing it again.. you are kind of in the frame of mind anyway (where as i have forgotten alot of the stage now DS2 is here.. haha)

    Don't worry hun to you.

People look at me like I have two heads!!!

Trust me, coming from someone who has both a large age gap and very small age gap between children, I would much rather the small age gap.

When the next person has a comment on how close your kids will be just say something like "Oh I just can't stop having sex with my husband" That'll shut em up!! I said this to my MIL when she had the same smarty pants comment after falling pg with this one. I must say I have never seen her mouth fall open as wide as it did that day!!!!

    How rude..

I love how people don't think we've thought of the obvious before them..

I'm envious of you personally! I'd love to have my babies that close together but have to wait 21 months for DH to finish uni!

    Huge hugs..

I know exactly how you feel. My children are exactly 12 months apart and when I first told people that I was pregnant again with my second, all I heard was negatives like "You are making a rod for your back" You will have your hands full" blah, blah, blah. To be honest, I have found it to be a lot easier than what I had imagined. It really got on my nerves too, but I used to respond by saying, "It's a good thing that you don't have to worry about it then!" or "Want to babysit?" Shut them up straight away. You will still get comments even after the next one is born but it becomes water off a ducks back and I just smile now and think, yeah you're just jealous!
