Default Tips for getting a breech baby to turn??

Does anyone have any good tips for getting a frank breech baby to turn?

Earlier in the pg, my obs said he would try to turn the baby externally around week 37 if still in breech, but now that I have very high blood pressure, he said that's out of the question. I'm booked in for a c-section if jnr doesn't turn, I'm very keen to avoid that the best I can. So far I've tried lots of walking each day, floating in a bathtub, & laying pelvis up - head down for 10 mins a few times each day. Any tips on what's worked for you would be so much appreciated.

I turned my baby at 36.5-37 weeks using a mix of things. You sound like you are already doing the head down, bottom up pose-that was one thing that I did often. The other was to see an acupuncturist who used a substance called moxibustion (it looks like a big cigar). It needs to be burned over a particular pressure point on the outside of your right foot, little toe. This is done at least 3 times a day for up to five days. It works wonders and my bub did turn after four days. There is also a great website called spinningbabies but I'm not sure of the exact link. It is on this forum somewhere!
PM me if you want any more information.

ETA- Here is the site. Definitely worth looking at. spinningbabies.com

Getting down on hands and knees for 10 minutes a day helps.
But don't slump your back, keep it in a straight line while on all fours.

Yes, that spinningbabies site has lots of great ideas - well worth a look.

Moxibustion has a very high success rate.

Only about 4% of babies stay breech until labour. Maybe some babies choose the breech position because that is their journey as it's meant to be.

If your baby doesn't turn, there are careproviders around who are happy to help you with a vaginal breech birth. Many independent midwives will help, as well as an OB at the John Hunter Hospital. I've heard of couples who have stayed in Newcastle for a few weeks until their baby is born so that they could have Dr Andrew Bissits assist them with a vaginal breech birth.

    Hugs to you.

my baby is breeched as well. his head was down now its up again. at 34 weeks the a**hole ultrasoundist told me there was nothing i can do. I've yet to see my doctor.

My initial reaction was one of great disappointment but I've come to terms with the possibility of a c-birth and in a way I'm glad I've had to think about it because it may have happened even if he wasn't breeched.

I'm doing what i can to turn the baby, but I'm not going to risk the baby's life and health if there are increased risks with birthing a breeched bubs vaginally just so I can experience natural birth.

The important thing is that he gets out into the world in one piece and is healthy.

I'm also less afraid of a c-section having heard of some positive experiences from friends.
