R.I.P Anna

A friend of mine off another board who lives in Scotland lost her daughter yesterday afternoon, she was only a few weeks old. There were problems from the beginning for poor little Anna. She was born with Truncus Arteriosis with a hypoplastic left ventricle and for ages they didnt know what was going to happen. Then the other day it was found that Anna had a narrowing in her trachea and they didnt think they could do anything. This morning I went on the other board and saw the message "She died this afternoon... my sweet innocent little baby. I don't know what to do" and burst into tears.

I just want to say Rest In Peace beautiful Anna, you were only with us for a while and I never met you but you will always be in our hearts. To Dan and Angela, I feel so sorry, I do not know what to say.

I don't know what to say to Ang, I just feel so helpess.

im so sorry for your friends loss

im not sure what you could say to her but just let her know you are there and if she needs to chat cry vent what ever you will be there to listen

Becca that's so sad, to be honest say something even if you just say we're thinking of you I jut lost my youngest brother and pretty much all my RL friends said nothing, that hurt more than them saying "thinking of you"

Again thank you. It was sooner than expected.
They told us on Thursday there was nothing they could do for her, so we requested that they transfer her to our local hospital for comfort care (basically they take off all life support and let them die when their organs fail).
They transferred us yesterday and after us both getting a chance to hold her, they removed the ventilator. Almost immediately, she went into respiratory arrest. I picked her up off of the bed and held her. She died in my arms after about an hour of struggling for breath. I couldn't stop screaming. We didn't expect it so quickly as she'd done well off of the ventilator before. It was just such a cruel way for her to go. The hospital promised they wouldn't let that happen. I just feel so cheated. We thought we'd have more time... we'd even packed the car up with all of her toys and clothes so she could have them around her.
I just can't believe I'm back to being nothing again... all of our future was planned around her. Everything is gone.

Thank you for your condolences, I will be passing them onto Ang at a later stage, I dont think she's up to it at the moment.
