do u kno anyone who will take them....
when a chicken eats its eggs it means they are lacking something in their food!
Have you also thought about collecting your food scraps and feeding it to them? They love all sorts of scraps, so you shouldn't waste anything that you dont eat! (I mean everything they will eat)
They never have this problem till about 4 weeks ago diet didnt change at all.We feed them all the scraps we have but they eat quite alot of seed to.

It could be possibel that where your buying the seed mix from has changed quality?
I would talk to your local produce store and they will be able to let you know why they are eating their eggs!
It could be boredom too! Are you letting them run around free or do they live in a cage? How long are you leaving the eggs in with them for?
If you really want to get rid of them, put a sign up on the local notice board and somebody will more then likely see it and take them
The seed may be the problem, seed mixes don't contain all the nutrients that chickens need to lay, try laying pellets they have all nutrients and because they are getting all of the goodness out of it they will probably eat less too!
Thanks ill get some laying pellet's

I have 40 chooks, we feed them Scratch Mix, laying pellets are to big, and they find it hard to eat, wheat and cracked corn is good corn keeps them warm. There are also things u shouldn't feed them out of ur scraps, citrus, bananas, seeds of any sort, onions, moldy bread or anything with mold. When u feed them bread u must wet it first. Also usually once they start eating eggs you can't stop them they jsut keep on going. Pm me if u want to know any more.

I have a feeling that if they start to eat their eggs, that you need to add shell grit to their diet....that is a memory from my best friend when I was a kid who's family had chooks.
Ask at the feed store - they shold be able to confirm that and tell you what you need.

I used to be an egg collector for a big chicken company....and if we saw a chicken eating it's eggs (or even the roosters)..we had to cull them as aparently they don't stop doing once they start...as these chooks purpose was to lay eggs!
