    Default Undies

    Hi

Finally my daughter has decided that she is ready to use the toilet. She is 2.5yrs old...
We went out with a nappy today all day and when we got to mums at 4 we took it off.. she then went and did a really big wee (all days worth?) the thing is.. she wont wear undies, its eaither a nappy or nothing.

this is ok at home or at mums.. but what about when we go out..??
Has this happened to anyone else? what should/can i do?

    Thanks

Have you tried going shopping with her and letting her pick out the ones she wants? It's not foolproof, my Ms 2 regularly picks something out and then won't eat/play with it but it might be worth trying.

My ds is the same, nappy or nothing at ALL lol he is 2.3 yrs old.

It seems to me with my ds that cause the undies are snug and fit closely to his skin he thinks he has a nappy on? 'cause when he has shorts on and no undies or nappy underneath he wants to take his shorts off to go potty but when he's just got undies on he tends to realise he needs to wee once it's too late. I think i may go get him some little trunksters or something to see if it works??
I have no advice but I like the idea of letting her pick out her undies???

gl and let me know if anything works for you!!!

If she is doing well with you taking the nappy off every time she needs the toilet, then I say go with the inconvenience and then wait until she has mastered going to the toilet before forcing a change to undies! You can talk to her and get her to pick some out, but if she isn't ready for the feel of them, then let her continue as she is and gradually wean her out of the nappies.

She is doing very well ... be proud! My ds has no idea as yet and desperately wants to wear his undies ... lots of accidents

We had the same issue. Try doing it in stages.

First use pull-ups to get used to the idea of the pulling up & down action, but still feel like nappies. We convinced him to use pull-up by telling him that the shops didn't sell nappies for boys as big as him any more.

Then use those thick towelling training pants (got ours at Coles). Same trick as the pull-ups. We told him that every boy was only allowed to have 3 packets of pull-ups and he had used all of his share up.

Then we used two pairs of undies at the same time. It seemed to be the padding and snugness of a nappy that was they key and two pairs of undies felt more like a nappy.

We are now down to one pair of undies - no problems and never had an accident.
