Default Rash - what is it??

Hi all, I developed a rash on my legs 2 days ago (I am 23 weeks pregnant) The rash looks like lots of little red bites. It wasn't very itchy, only when my pants rubbed on the area when I walked. The rash died down overnight but today I have another area on my leg with the same rash and now a little bit on my tummy. I feel fine otherwise. Anyone know what it could be? I will be seeing my doctor if it gets any worse... thanks!

Default I am suffering from a rash too

I developed a rash last weekend on my ever growing belly by Monday it was quite itchy and I was rather concerned so I consulted my GP who believes that it is PUPPP which is often referred to as Plaques of Pregnancy, it is now Saturday it has died down on my belly but progressed to my arms and is driving me mad. I am only 20 weeks and all the info I have says that the only cure is delivery the thought of 20 more weeks of this incessant itching and sleepless nights is doing my head in. I am in the process of trying to find something natural that may help will keep you posted if I find anything.

this sounds like what i developed on my hands and feet / ankles at about 33 weeks. it wasn't itchy but was very inflamed. for a while i thought it might be PUPP but the OB just told me it was a 'rash'.

i ended up switching to QV lotion to wash with and used cortisone cream (prescribed by the doctor) on the affected areas. in the last few weeks the rash started to fade, but i had REALLY dry flaky skin around the areas that had the rash. bizarrely, after i gave birth it disappeared!! (and i mean within 12-24 hours!)

    Default Update - sort of...

    Thanks for the responses!

I went to the doctor and she said "come back if it gets worse next week"... which didn't really help that much, but I am not so worried anymore. She asked if it was an allergy(don't think so) and said that hormones can cause a lot of different rashes. She looked at it and said it wasn't serious. It's not hives or pupps...

Will keep you posted if I find out more!

Thats a relief. Have you changed your washing powder, soap, deodarants something like that, perhaps.

    Wink Pregnancy Rash

    Hi Ladies,
I also have the same rash with all of those symptoms it is called PUPP. I first started getting it last week & was going insane & was getting quite depressed from it. Especially since as you guys know it only goes after delivery (although lucky for me I only have 3 weeks left).
Any way my doctor prescribed me this fantastic cream called CORTIVAL Cream. It comes as a 2 pack and it's a steriod cream. It is also only available from prescription but you can also get the generic version which I have called Cortival 1/5 cream Betamethasone Valerate cream.
This stuff has worked wonders. It occasionally still itches so you just re apply but it is nothing like when i wasn't using it.

Hope this helps as I know what it is like and am glad to be able to help!

    Aimée

    DS- Elijah due June 21st
