Question don't want to return to old job but looking for new ideas????

I'm a qualified primary teacher and taught for a few years leading up to my first pregnancy, but since then have quit my job and don't really want to go back to it. Only I want to know if anyone out there knows of something else I could get into with a teaching background, but not actually teaching in a school environment. Would love some advice! Thanks Melissa.

    Hi Melissa,

How about as Child Care Worker in your own home?Barnados are always looking for Carers. I think you are allowed to look after 5 kids including your own. You can enquire through Barnados or your local council.
    Cheers,

How about being a swimming instructor?
We took our DD for her orientation and they had signs looking for people that they will train up and employ.
You can always teach English to newly arrived migrants, refugees or do private tutoring from home. I'll keep thinking and post more suggestions when I can think of them. Good luck!! There are so many options out there, hard to know where to start? Z

    Hi there,

do you like to cook? How about open a cooking class or something like that?

A friend of us just quit his job recently (at that time he earns 100K+) because he had enough doing some consulting business, guess where he is now? He's doing an apprenticeship chef study at TAFE !! LOL

I'm a teacher too and have often wondered the same thing ...

    I've done the following:

    * Teacher Aide (no responsibility of planning)
    * Tutoring
    * Homework Programs (used to do this with Aboriginal children, ATSIC funded, don't know if it still exists)

Would love to do the following:

    * Researcher for television or radio

hi im also a teacher and can get very frustrated with the job now and then, never really the kids but the pushy parents
have u thought of doing casual instead in and out in one day without the commitment of parents or a program and the money is so very hard to beat.
    try changing schools
try another job in the school eg librarian or esl
why do u want to leave teaching.....not that i can blame u as i would have made the move as well if i could find a job that pays the same.
