Pure emu oil. You can buy it in a chemist or health food shop. It worked really well for DD.

I used stellatopia made by Mustella (Spell), sold at good pharmacies, designed for eczema. I found it worked wonders.

We tried lost of different creams, but found this worked the best.

My dermatologist basically explained to me that with Eczema you lose the moisture content in ur skin numerous times faster then normal skin.

I basically buy a big old pump pack of sorbolene cream. just watch the extra's they can put in there, and lather it as often as possible during the day. Also bath oils are good as well. He will never really have that soft skin again but u can get close!

Yep sorbolene is good. I was also recommended by our dr to purchase good quality sorbolene, we use hydroderm in a pump bottle.

    Default Eczema

    Hi Kristi
My son developed eczema at around 9 months old. He is now 6, 7 in July. We went through so much with it. Ryan spent a LOT of time in Westmead Children's hospital. He was wrapped in wet bangages for 24hours a day for so long. At times for weeks on end. We always found that a cream/lotion worked for upto 6 weeks, then all of a sudden just stopped. We did all the blood tests, elimanation diet, dermatoligist, who happens to be the top childrens top dermatoligist in NSW. In September 2003 we took him to a naturapth. We started a natural therapy with him, Ryan had his last hospital admission in January 2004, due to a skin infection. We stopped using all steriod base creams etc when we started with the naturopath. All our son's specialist agreed with what we were doing. I just wished we had have done it earlier.

The only suggestions I have for you are: seriously consider a naturopath, use ointments not creams as these are greasier and sok into the skin and keep more moisture in, ask and ask and don'tngive up. Wrap the childs hands at night so they don't scratch their skin off. In the creases of the childs skin do wet dressings to lock in moisture. Keep a food diary even if you have had blood tests done, we found out our son reacted to citrus but this did not show up in his ige testing. The best advice I can give you is if you feel really stressed go to your closest children's hospital and tell them, because they will help you.

I could go on all night about this. feel free to email me if you want to ask anything.
Sorry this was so long, but I have so many memories of the lost sleep, stress and the tears I had for my poor little boy.
