Default another will this work question

I'm not sure how many of you read my other post a while back about some aio's i got off ebay for $10 each but i now have a question about modifying them.

i guess it goes without saying that you get what you pay for in this world and $10 is awfully cheap for a brand new aio....

so this is what they are: 100% cotton with only 3 layers of terylene for absorbancy and chunya batiste coating on the outside (some form of PUL) and with only 3 layers it doesn't take long for them to leak all over the place, especially if wee man has a bit of his shirt stuck in the front (a shirt seems to be more absorbant than whats inside them hehe)...

so what i was thinking was that i could sew some funky material (probably polar fleece since it's getting into winter and perhaps some other material on the inside leaving a little pocket opening for an insert, effectively making the nappy more like my bright bubba pocket nappy with the PUL hidden inside. because the nappies are so thin i don't think adding some polar fleece will bulk it up too much.

of course i could leave the nappies as is and just chuck an insert inside but i thought it might be cool to "funky" them up a little as they are plain white

thats what they are ^^ any thoughts/input would be great, i was thinking about a flannellette lining on the inside with a pocket area....

By putting a fleece on the outside it would help with the leaking issues... So you wanna effectively turn these into a pocket? Just treating the orginal nappy as one layer in the wetzone???

Cant see why this wouldnt work, and as they were only $10 each - cant hurt to try!

If you wanted to use a microfleece on the inner it would wick wetness away from up also...

Also have a think about whether, by the time you've put fleece inside and/or out, it might have been just as quick to sew your own fleece pocket nappy

I'd just do a pocket nappy. Or you could get some bamboo and boost it that way without making it into a pocket, just get some boosters
