    Default BF advice

    Hello Everyone,

Over the last few weeks DD has started clamping her gums together and pulling on my nipple while feeding. As you could imagine this doesnt tickle and im starting to get a little worried about feeding her when she gets teeth.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could stop her from doing this? I have tried taking her off and saying NO in a stern voice only to be giving a grumpy look and when she is put back on she does it again.

    Hi

One of the things that worked for me whenever Andrew was biting with his gums was to put him on the floor for a minute and then pop him back on. He got the message pretty quickly that if he was going to bite, he wasn't going to be fed.

He has 2 teeth now and we haven't had any trouble with biting for a long time!

I used to take my son off and put him down while half turning so the boobs weren't facing him any more. He soon realised that biting meant the boobs went away. They're not usually very persistent past that

This has many more hints though.

A newborn might clamp down for several reasons most of which will no longer be present when teeth arrive. I bf a two yr old and have no fangy issues with him.
