A report from the WWF says that Australian companies are going to have to rethink they way they do business with China because they need to be pressured into sustainable growth.
McDonald's is a huge client of China's toy-making industry - in the US, McDonald's can sell 100 million Happy Meal toys in 10 days!
With that sort of clout and that sort of consumption, McDonald's is in a great spot to demand sustainable toys. And we thought we'd give them a little shove in the right direction.
McDonald's is gung-ho about making Happy Meals healthier for our children, but we want them to be healthier for the planet too. We'd like to see McDonald's set standards so its toys are...
:: made from sustainable materials,
:: produced with green energy and
:: made as locally as possible to reduce transportation, and
:: be able to be recycled in our normal recycling bin!
Sign this petition before Monday 14th May, and we will present it to the CEO of McDonald's in Australia, Mr Peter Bush.
