    Default Bertini Mio, Childcare Infinity

    Hi,

I am interested to know if anyone has the Bertini Mio ( or Trio) or Childcare Infinity Pram. They look like the Bugaboo with the large pump up wheels at the rear of the pram and the smaller wheels at the front. They come with the bassinet for when bubs is small and then a chair for when they are older.
Esprit also make a similiar model but I am not sure of the style name.
If you have one or know someone that has one, I'd like to know what you think of it.

    Thanks

Default a little help i hope!

    Hello
as the name suggests, i work in retail.. so i hope i can help out.
The Esprit model you talk of is the Childcare Infinity brand but is simply a different colour with the esprit logo on it. As for the price i'm not sure if there is a difference because of this, but you may be able to get further information from the 'childcare products' website. Basically the differences between the bugaboo and the infinity is that the bugaboo's handle is reversable and the infinity's seat is reversable, the advantage of this being that the infinity will always have the swivel wheels facing forwards which makes for easy manoverability. Also, when purchasing the infinity you will get the fleecy insert free which would normally be an additional fee with the bugaboo. I haven't really had a detailed look at the bertini model but if you put them together the similarities are almost exact. the only noticeable difference is that the mio has more storage space below, the front wheels are closer together, and the folding mechanism appears to be different. With the infinity, you basically get the fleecy insert free (not with mio), but you do have to purchse the bassinet seperately...
Hope iv'e helped a bit.. goodluck with the research

    Thanks Truthfulsalesassistant.
It is always hard to get comments on these prams as not a lot of people have them.
The only thing I don't like about the mio or trio is that the rear wheels are quite wide (68cm) but I think that is very similiar to many of the 3 wheelers on the market. Do you know much about the wear and tear of the Miio or Trio?
I have been thinking this morning and I am thinking that I might go for the Bertini Trio ( comes with the bassinet which I can use on the pram and also separately when we visit people). Then when the baby is older I might get a small light weight 4 wheeler which I can use when I go shopping and keep the Trio 3 wheeler for walking and outdoor use.

    Bec..
I know that if you are looking at a pram that holds either a toddler seat or a bassinnet, the back wheels will be generally wider for stability reasons. I honestly couldn't tell you about the general wear and tear of these items as i have personally owned one (hopefully someone else can help you with this ), but a pram will usually come with a 12 month warranty depending on the brand. In regards to the bassinet all three models have a carry handle on the hood which sounds like what you might be after.
You can download the images of the products on their respective websites... and i can honestly say i wouldn't be surprised if all three prams were manufacturer by the same company as the products are so alike it's uncanny (e.g: wheels, materials, trim and handle)
Three wheelers seem to be a more popular choice, i would just advise you go to the retailer and have a 'test run' to ensure it fits through doorways and register bays. But as you mentioned, a lightweight stroller will probably come in handy as bub gets older.
Happy too help.. let me know how you go...and best of luck

    Hi Bec,
Don't know if you're interested but I was out pram shopping today and I was looking at the Childcare Infinity Pram (the Espirit version of it) and when I was talking to the sales assistant about it, she mentioned that in the next few weeks Valco is bringing out one along the same lines. So unless you're in a rush, maybe wait and check this one out. I liked that you could reverse this one (CIP), that was the reason I was looking at the Valco Rebel, which many sales assistants have told me is too heavy for me! Which is one of the reasons she told me to wait. She said they should be in store by the end of the month. She couldn't remember all the the details about it, she said she thought it was light and compact, she'd just seen it at an expo or something.

Thanks for starting this thread Bec (and for those who have replied) - these are the exact two prams that I am looking at. I have small hatchback and both of these prams appear to fit in my boot.

Thanks for that info mum2peanut. Can you tell me where you were told this info?? Babies Galore??? I wasn't planning on getting the pram until the end of this month so I might wait and see if it comes out in time and have a look at it. Thanks a lot for letting me know.

    Hi Bec,
The Sales Assistant at Baby Zone told me. On the Valco website in the intro it talks a little about the new models coming out . It doesn't show them but tells a little bit about what they are. I'm waiting. I figure I'm in no rush. I guess the only thing will be the cost I'd imagine they'd be expensive because they're new. Who knows??

I've also been looking at the bertini mio/trio, and now have started looking at the esprit/childcare infinity models. My only problem is that I have only seen/played with the mio but am thinking to get the trio because the front wheel seems stronger and more shock absorbing for when I have to go onto gravel etc. I know the mio and trio are exactly the same except for the wheels, but is there any advantage of 4 wheels over 3 wheels? And do the infinity models come with a 3 wheel option?
