Default Tax exemption - Fact or Fiction?

Ok, the story starts with me being quite exausted since I'd just given birth to my darling 5th child. Still on the delivery table and my dp leans over to me and says "JUST TWO MORE KIDS DARLING AND I DON'T HAVE TO PAY TAXES FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!"

Just wondering to all you ladies out there of large or small families if anyone has heard of that one? Not the fact that my dp is truely not the most sensitive bloke going around but is what he said true or has anyone heard of something similar?

I'm not thinking of having more kids because they could be a tax write-off but it would be a bonus though

yeah I'm hoping this thread looks interesting enough for people to view it. As my dp says "only 2 more"

I have 5 and we pay same amount of tax as everyone else.

Hi Mumo5 , I think what your husband is saying is while you work it is tax free when you have a lot of kids because of the family payment , that is the case for us ,we have 9 kids and because of the amount of family payment we get my husband works tax free, if you can understand all of that, also we dont pay any medicare levy or surcharge because my husbands income is below what is required. Hope all helps.
