    Default funneled cervix anyone?

Hi bub hub mummies, just wondering if anyone has had a funneled cervix, or if you know of anyone that has had one? i am 28 weeks preg and they just found my cervix is funneled on a 4d scan (that i elected to have so i could get pictures) 1.8cm. I have to go back monday to see if its opened any more and if so they want to admit me to hospital until baby is born, which depending on how bad it is could be weeks or could be months

I would love to hear your stories if you've had experience with this because i really dont know a lot about it and would love to know how many women actually did have to stay in hospital or whether it had no effect at all....

hi ya, I don't really know much about this, apart from its a type of incompetent cervix, so instead of shortning like a normal cervix would do it insteads starts shorting in the centre so when you look at it on a normal 2d scan then it can look normal,

i'll bump this up for you anyways, hope someone can help ya

My cervix started to funnel by 28wks with our DD due to my incompetent cervix. I was fortunate enough to have a cerclage (suture) put in at 14wks so this stopped me from delivering H until I went into early labour at 36wks.

My OB just said to make sure to rest as much as possible - try to stay off your feet and keep horizontal.

Good luck with the next few weeks.
