Does anyone know how long after giving birth can you start doing sit ups? I have my flat belly back but it really needs a tone, when can i start?

    Hi bec

usually about six weeks after the birth but if u feel ok and not in any pain.. u could try it slowly and not too many? I was on the treadmill few days after the birth I started off slow walking and now I am running on it

how is ur bubba doing?? mine is beside me sleeping!

Situps will work the outer layer ("six pack muscles"). Try doing core ab exercises where u pull your belly button to your spine. You can even just do it driving or walking around, hanging out the washine etc. Or do it while u r doing light weights, it also supports your back.

It's kinda sucking it but not really. Sorry to confuse. I just concentrate on my belly button and that muscle seems to take alot more effort than just "sucking it in".

It's like what body builders do (they brace their abs) to support their spine as they lift.

I do it whenever i drive, wash up, hang up washing, pack stuff away etc. That way if i don't get to do my crunches and other core exercises i don't feel like I've missed out.

    Hope that helps.

Yep, that's what i do anyways and i see great results.

Eg. I hold my belly button to my spine every drive to drop Jayce off to school and pick up. So it's 10 mins each way, so that means i do 1hr 40 mins of extra ab bracing a week. Try it.
