    Default Oil Heaters

It's freezing here in Sydney tonight and because of this I've decided it's time to buy an Oil Heater for DD's room. The last 3 nights have been COLD.

So where can I get one from, somewhere like Harvey Norman or Myer?

Also how much do they cost? I only want a small one.

I got a small one for DD's room for about $50 from K-Mart.It's a 5 or 6 column (can't remember!) and has a thermostat so you can set the timer to have it go on and off during the night.
Makes DD's room nice and toasty.

I've seen really small ones (ie 3 columns) sold in woolies supermarkets for about $20 - they had thermostats and all.

Yeah you can buy these anywhere bunnings kmart myer etc etc. Just be aware they can really add a lot of money to your electricity bill- 1 small heater can easily add $150 plus any other heater running in the home.....

I have a three column one that I got at Kmart fairly cheap, it has a thermostat so it cuts in and out. I honesty didn't notice to much of a price rise in our elect bill, but I have heard that oil heaters are the best for baby's rooms.
I also bought one of those 24hour plug in timers, and set the heater to turn off at the coldest time of the night, or to warm the room before bedtime. I normally had mine kick in at 6pm, turn off at 10pm and then turn back on from 4am -7am.

i've heard they use alot of power....

but only use in a small room. they are virtually useless in a larger room.

personally i dont like them and will be finding another option for heating this year.

We actually have 3! And it adds no more than $30 a month to our electricity bill in winter. They are great for bedrooms in that u can set the timer to turn off so the room doesnt over heat!
