Unhappy Im Lazy and have no Will Power!

    Im so cranky with myself
I have been on so many diets and health kicks for about 5 years now and I never manage to stick to them!
I have been on Jenny Craig, WW and TF diets and I have lost probably 10kgs all up, but I still have probably less than 10 to go. Its not a great deal compared to some people, but I think because im not overly uncomfortable in my body it makes it harder to loose the weight.
I hate exercise and love chocolate. That is my biggest downfall. I shouldnt say that I hate exercise really, I hate the thought of doing it. once I have done it I feel great! As a mum with 3 kids its just hard to find the time to do anything for me. Ive been thinking of getting a personal trainer but then then I feel guilty on spending money on myself when I could be spending on the family for food or renovations for the house.
Is anyone else in the same situation as me? How did u overcome it? I so want to lose this last 10kgs but its harder than the first 10kgs!

Hello. I truly believe it's about our mindset.

Make the decision today to change how u live and eat for the rest of your life. Make the choice to be the better u. Dig out all your gorg photos and put them on the fridge. Tell yourself everyday that's who u r gonna be, coz thats what u deserve.

U can still have your treats too hun.

Change one thing each day. If u can't give up your choccy. Use it as a reward if you can stick to exercise for a week.

Give yourself all sorts of rewards and throw guilt out the window. Every kilo u lose it will be your treat...maybe a manicure, maybe a new top. Do whatever it takes to get yourself there.

Use life as a reward. When u have done all your morning chores then reward yourself with your healthy brekkie. Then after you've done your exercise let yourself have some bubhub time. That sort of thing. Change your mindset. Use everything to motivate yourself.

U have three kids so u need to set your environment up to cater for exercise time for u. A gym may not be possible. It's not for me so I opt for dvd workouts, free weights and fit ball. When I can i go for a walk with the kids, one in pram, one on bike.

Don't give yourself a time frame. Don't say i need to lose the weight by ........ Aim for exactly what u want and watch it happen (does that make sense). As long as u get there one day that is all that matters. It's about reinventing the quality of you. And quality can take time. Suprise yourself.

Motivation is the key. If u need any help with anything pls pm me.

    Luv Kiah

I think Kiah said everything perfectly.

Don't be so hard on yourself sweetness, it's tough to do the things you do every single day in caring for your three little ones! You just need to try to stay positive- no one is perfect and there will be days where nothing goes right.

You are not lazy- you're just busy! Be kind to yourself- you wouldn't say about a friend the things you say in your post about yourself. You need to love yourself a little more and put aside some time for you each day.

Once you begin exercising (and find something you enjoy), you'll notice that it becomes a part of your life without much effort at all. Honestly. I know it doesn't seem that way at the moment- but trust me .

Just remember, even a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step (and it's always the hardest one!!!).

I'm lazy, and unmotivated... so now I'm on Lite n Easy. I've lost 10kg in 6 weeks and have done absolutely NO exercise to do that. Not even walking to the shops or anything.

I go to the fridge, find the bag with the correct day on it, and eat what I have to eat. I don't have to THINK about food, and I think that's been the best thing. I find that when I have to think about what I'm going to eat, I make the wrong choice. It's so much easier to grab take-away or to grab some greasy leftovers... and it's also so easy to eat WAY more than I need to or should... because it's there.

But, with the LNE, I can only eat what's there. There's nothing else TO eat... so it involves no real thought on my behalf. It doesn't give me the chance to stuff up.

I HAVE swayed from the program a few times, but I've still lost weight. In those 6 weeks, I had 2 Mc Donald's Quarter Pounder Meals (not in one sitting...lol), a Maccas Lean Beef Burger, lots of chocolate cake (it was my 21st recently)... etc etc. I still lost 10kg though... so I'm over the moon!

I don't feel naughty for cheating because I've still lost weight anyway. I'm just not eating as much junk as I usually would have... I'm eating WAY less.

The food on LNE is yum too... most of it (some of it's gross IMO, but most is pretty lovely!).

I think you need to find what works for you, and what your real problem is. With me, it was me being lazy, and choosing the quickiest, easiest option to eat - and it was usually a bag of chips, or a frozen pie or a microwave cheeseburger or something. Now it's whatever LNE gives me.
I've now lost 36kg thanks to the gastric sleeve!

Sassymummy has a point. I know with 3 kids it is hard to not just grab the easy options out of the fridge or get takeaway. Try to make some time for yourself, I know it's not easy! For example this morning I actually had a shower , normally that has to wait until night time, but I just thought what's the worst thing that could happen if they have to deal without me for 5 minutes.
I am sooo in your situation, it's just a few kilos that have to come off and I'm not even trying to get back down to my pre pregnancy weight. Part of the problem for me is that I look at myself and think well I don't actually look too bad for having had 3 kids. So it's not a major problem and it's hard to find motivation to do something which is very difficult when you could probably go along ok at your current weight. But then I want to go out and go to buy something new and I get into the dooldrums and think if only I had done some work!
I don't have any real answers for you I'm afraid as I have slackened off big time in the last week. I'm actually going to sit down later today and have a hard look at what I want to do and how I am going to get there. I seriously need a roster of sorts to get my house clean and manageable, to keep the kids happy, to eat properly and to find time to exercise!

I think light and easy is a great option for busy mums. If you can't afford it though, just premake and prefreeze your meals if u can.

I make all my meals at 5 am each morning. Whenever i am hungry there is something in the fridge for me. I have to have it that way or my energy gets down fast.

i thought i was too.... so i take baby steps..its a big change, so im tackling it like a project

i hate exercise too... but i get such great stress relief from it...i want to be able to jog for 1/2 an hour...so im starting off small, today i jogged on the spot for 1 minute, tommorrow i'll do it for 2, and just add an extra minute everyday.... when im at 15 mins i might head out of the house....

as for food, i hate being restricted, i cant live like that, im doing the csiro diet, it works for me, if you love your chocolate, why not make it a mission, walk to a shop and buy a mini version of your favorite one, as soon as you ban something you crave it, so ban nothing, just be sensible in your portions, you'll get there, i know im tired of thinking about it...im loving what im doing for me

there are a few ways to do anything, but my way is always right.

I agree with Bronny - banning your fave foods will surely set you up for failure. There's only so long you can go before you cave in and scream, OMG JUST GIVE ME SOME DAMN CHOCOLATE! Unfortunately, after this kinda moment, instead of having just one bar or whatever, you enjoy about 3 or 4 of them, along with chips, cake, pizza... and any other thing you've been missing.

I'm on Lite n Easy, like I said (and yep, Kiah has got a good idea... I'm going to start doing Lite n Easy only for Breakfast and Lunch, but am going to prepare low-fat dinners which I can freeze and then reheat later on)... and tonight, I had pizza. Not even HEALTHY pizza - nice fatty, greasy pizza. You know why? Because I wanted to.

I knew that if I held off and forbid myself from having it, I'd start to want it even more... in which case, I'd go crazy and scoff a whole pizza. Tonight, I had 3 pieces. MUCH better than a whole pizza!

If you can manage to learn about Calories, seriously consider that. Even though I'm not really calorie counting, it really does help when deciding if "cheating" my healthy-eating plan is really worth it. If I feel like a chocolate, for example, because I can read calories, I know what I'm getting myself into, and which bar I should choose. (Mars Bars have SO much sugar and fat, and generally have the same amount of Calories as a big serving on dinner!).

Thanks for your replys guys. Im glad to know im not the only one in this situation! I have thought about lite and easy and I may give it a go, much to my hubbys disgust. He just hates forking out money if he knows I wont stick to it, if he knows I will stick to it he doesnt mind. I think after easter I may start, get all the chocchy gorging out of the road first and then I will be able to start fresh! Im going to check out the LNE website now
    Thanks again for your support
