    Default Ok, it's time

I used to be really fit, not necessarily healthy but fit. I would dance 20 hours a week, did boxing training one night a week and played 3 games of netball a week, all while working full time. BUT, I also drank heaps and smoked the whole time (I was 18).

I am pleased to say that I have quit smoking, I am now on my 27th day without a cigarette and I feel fantastic! I have so much more energy it's amazing.

DS and I went for a walk to the shop yesterday, but when we got there we kept on going, and walked to Daddy's workshop and then home again. I knew it was a fair hike but didn't know exactly HOW FAR it was. Well, I measured the distance today in the car, and yesterday I walked 5.2 kms

I'm now waiting for DP to come home from work so that I can go for another walk but this time without DS in the pram. I'm determined to keep it up this time, especailly as my best friend just called and she'll be coming home from Sydney for the Easter weekend and wants us to go to the races. I've never been to the races before, and I want to wear a really pretty dress that maybe shows off my newly toned legs

I'll keep you all updated on my progress. I want to use this as an incentive to walk everyday, like as if I'll get in trouble from the rest of you if I don't get on here and report that yes I have been a good girl

Congrats on your efforts, keep up the good work. I quit smoking a year ago and have never looked back, even after smoking for 13 years. Good on you!!

I wish i could get motivated to walk again, keep us posted on how you go for sure
    Cheers, Lisa

    Hi girls !!!

    Thanks for the encouragement

Today I went for a walk with my SIL and we walked 6.5kms My calf muscles feel really tight but other than that I feel fantastic.

I'm going to walk again tomorrow too. I have a bit more motivation now. I've just bought this dress http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....MakeTrack=true and I'll be wearing it in 3 and a half weeks. I'm determined to have some nicely toned legs to show off underneath it

    Hi again!!

I walked another 6.5kms with my SIL tonight. I'm going to my mum's house tomorrow for a few days though and I'll have to walk by myself. I want to keep walking the same distance though so at the moment I'm trying to figure out a route to take.

Hello just making sure u r staying on track. Good gal!!! And what fantastic walks u r doing!!!!

Toning legs. Have u tried adding ankle weights as u walk hun. Can get them from any sports shop and they really help. When u take them off u appreciate how light your legs actually are.

Just a thought. U r so good!!! Keep it up. Luv Kiah

It rained tonight and was really muggy. There was no way I was going out walking in THAT.

Luckily, my mum has a treadmill so I was still able to do my walk

My mum VERY rarely uses her treadmill, so I'm thinking about asking if I can take it home with me. This way, if it's raining at home, I'll still be able to walk.

Another 6kms on the treadmill tonight. I feel fantastic! Very tired though. I'm trying to be really concious of everything I eat and drink, and considering the calorie count of everything before it goes into my mouth.

Still haven't asked about taking the treadmill with me.

So last night I had a 'night off' which I'm now totally ashamed of. I had a problem with a kitten, about which I've got another thread going, and I had a can of scotch and coke, and then another and another and before I knew it, there was no way I was going to be able to get on that treadmill I'm so so naughty.

I got on tonight though and did just over 3kms. I must have been totally unco tonight because I kept hitting buttons and pulling out the emergency stop cord thingy with a swing of my arm and it all just got too frustrating and hard. Also, I felt really really tired tonight, and I think that's because I didn't walk last night and also because I started so late tonight.

Mental note to self - stick to the same time for exercising every night and make sure it's BEFORE dinner and not afterwards.
