Default Kiwi's on the Gold Coast

    Hi

Me and my family are planning on moving to the Gold Coast within the next few months, once DH gets his Australian resident permit (he's French); and I was just wondering if you Kiwi's who are already on the Coast, could tell me some nice areas to live in, or more to the point, the areas NOT to live in.

I've done lots of google searches, but it's a bit hard to really tell if somewhere is nice or not, just over the net. We've been on numerous holidays to the coast, but never really took much notice of the residential areas there.

We have a 3 year old and 18 month old and DH works in the hospitality trade. We want to rent initially, but intend to buy.

    Ta...

Maybe post the same post in the Gold Coast Section....there are heaps of kiwis on the coast.

I was born in NZ...however have been here 25 years...so not sure if I classify as kiwi anymore lol

You will get heaps of advice regarding areas too. Maybe give us some ideas of what you would like to be near...kindys, beaches, shopping centres, transport.

ETA...have a look at realestate.com.au....I'm pretty sure they have a rentals section on there and it will give you and idea of what you can get for your money....

I was going to put a post up on the Gold Coast section, but had to nip out for a bit.

I've had a look at plenty of real estate agencies and property management sites, but they don't really tell you about the area. Are some area's more 'rough' than others? Are there better daycares/schools in certain area's? It's stuff like that, that I'm after...

I just thought a bit of advice from kiwi's who had experienced moving to the coast would be handy and usefull, especially as they have been in the same situation.
