    Default Sleeping all day!!

    my Ds had his 2 months needles yesterday.
    he had his last feed at 9.30am tis morning when he fell asleep.
    its now 2.45pm

    could this be because of his needles?
    should i wake him up or let him keep sleeping?

    he doesnt have a temp or anything like that

    My motto is "never wake a sleeping baby" but in this case, because it has immediately followed vaccination, I would wake him up just to check him over - he may not have a temp, but there could be other reactions that you can't notice while he's asleep. And definitely he needs another feed by now, so you don't want to risk dehydration.

    Rash of any kind in any place on the body;
    Check his eyes, pupils etc;
    Check his breathing;

    I'd want to see if he's "normal and well in himself" when he's awake.

    The vaccination literature you've read should have a list of reactions - a certain amount are considered "normal" by the pharmaceutical manufacturers. But any adverse reaction should be reported to your doctor.

    i dont seem to have any information!
    theres not even anything in his blue book.

    do you know of any links i could look at on the net to see what 'normal' and whats not?

    he doesnt have a rash, i've just run a bath to see if that will wake him up a bit more.
    hes a heavy sleeper at the best of times and isnt easy to wae up.
    when i tried to wake him up before he went back to sleep.

    hes been sleeping 9 hours during the night since he was 3 weeks old.

    Chloe slept a lot too.

    But, not that it ruined her pattern, she was fussy all day, had a fever, took longer naps, but didn't sleep the longest til night time which was 14 hours.

    The nurses didn't give you any pamphlets? Notifying you of everything your bub has been vacinated for?

    i dont seem to have any information!
    theres not even anything in his blue book.
    I have info on Chloe's 4 months shots.
    Right at the back of the blue book, we have her scheduled immunisations written down.

    2 months- vaxinating for Hep B.

    DTPa# >>>>Localised pain, redness-swelling at injection site, Irritable-crying, unsettled, generally unhappy.

    Hep B>>>>>>>> Infanrix hexa (i think it says that?). Localised pain, redness & swelling at injection site. Injection site nodule may last several weeks. (no treatment needed).

    Hib>>>>>>Localised pain, redness, swelling at site, Injection site nodule may last several weeks. (no treatment needed). Low grade temperature-fever.

    Polio>>>>>>>>> Prevenar>>> Occasional diarrohea (no treatment usually needed but parent or carer must wash hands carefully after changing nappies).

    There's a government vaccination info site, and there's tons of independant vaccination info sites.

    And I shake my head at your doc/nurse, for not giving you any information on what they've injected into your baby.

    My DS had his 2 month needles on Tuesday afternoon. He only woke once Tuesday night and then slept pretty much all day yesterday! Like yourself, I was a little concerned so i rang the doctor and they said it is not a sign of a reaction. Anyway Today he seems fine. I reckon just the trauma of it all tires them out.
