Default what comes first, the placenta or cutting the cord?

just a quick question, do I birth the placenta then my husband cuts the umbilical cord or is it the other way round?

It depends on your care provider. I personally like to wait for the placenta to be delivered and the cord to stop pulsating but there are lots of reasons why the cord would need to be cut first.

If you have a managed 3rd stage then it is cut before the placenta is delivered.
