Hi we went last year to the perisher and I think it was more child freindly than thredbo, even though i havent been there. The accomadation seemed better we stayed at The Man From Snowy River LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT!!!!! it has on site parking underground which is great if you are travelling with young kids otherwise you have to cart them and everything up the skitube ( runs underground up to perisher i think cant remember exactly). THEY HAVE PORTA COTS IF YOU NEED THEM, we took our own, the food was awesome like 5 star quality, they have a kids club at night were the kids have dinner with the other kids and us adults could have dinner together, its a short walk to Front Valley and the creche that caters for babies upto 3yrs and there is the ski school for the 3- older kids (although my DD1 was 3 1/2 didnt like it and she ended up in the creche. My 2 girls didnt stay in the creche the whole time they were booked in, which was fulltime so you were guareented a spot if you want to ski/board all day, which DH did but i didnt i hurt my toe in my boots they were too small, so me and the girls rode the chairlift and built snow men.
It was expensive, our package included all breakfasts and dinners, sorry cant say enough about the qulaity and amount of food it was A1. We had an awesome time I would highly recommend 'The Man From Snowy River'. Im guessing it cost us all up everything, ski hire, lunch creche about $5000 Id have to check it was last year. If you go to the perisher website you can get a brochure sent out.
The only thing that was missing was the SNOW!! It was a bad season last year, snow melted heaps quick in the week we were there, then dumped the week after. Hope i havent bombarded you with info overload. Have fun at the snow, we arent going this year cause we wanna move house and cant afford to do both, although me and DH might go 4 a weekend.
Pm me if you have any questions
Sorry its so long forgot to add 'The Man' is one of the few that has onsite parking so its best to decide and book early so you dont miss out. We went in the las t week of August, I think they are extremely busy in school holidays and way more expensive.
thanks for the reply. will try their web site. how are the sleeping arrangements are all the beds in one room as not sure how all 5 of us will go sleeping and living in one big room. but love the idea of all food inclusive as means i can also relax.
Yes The Man From Snowy River is fantastic we were there without kids but it looked like it had a fantastic kids club.
