Hi ange, not much help but maybe try leaving more toys he likes out or some bones or rawhide things for him to chew on.
Our staffy loves chewing also her fav things are tennis balls (the giant ones last longer) or 2L coke bottles.
Hope someone else is more helpful just a couple of suggestions.

Oh Ang.... sorry babe no advice im afraid... my staffy Playdoh has never really done that... hes too occupied chasing his damn tail

Maybe it might just take him a little longer to grow out of it...

The only thing i can really think of would be a spray called 'bitter lime', alot of people use it on the dog if they bite their paws and fur but it's also used on dogs beds and kids shoes etc, so it could help if it's something the dogs not supposed to chew on. Only prob is it means going around and spraying those things!

How old is he? It could be a teething thing as my new staffy pup chews everything in sight.

Lots of chew toys for him are a good thing as well, like kongs full of dog bickies so he learns this is a good thing to chew on.

Also a little spray bottle full of water & spray him every time you see him chewing, he will slowly learn.

Chewing is usually developed as a bad habit at a young age, and is usually a sign of boredom, there for lots of dog toys are a great distraction.

Brass hose fittings are also a great idea.

dunno if its true but I thought chewing was to do with being "On heat" Dexter never did it with us he jumped fences at that age and tried to bite ppl it was kinda bad but we just persisted tellling him "NO" Over + over! do u feed him inside? if u do try feeding outside putting it up in a high place so he knows whos boss and then 15min later give it to him, I noticed with Dexter once we did this he had more respect for us and when someone came to the door we would yell for him to "stay on his matt" eventually he grew out of it mayb this culd help??? dunno sorrry!

Try a Kong, they are the best toys for dogs and by far last the longest (even for a staffy).

Mix up some chicken/beef or vege stock with some water & pour into the kong (you can plug the small hole at the bottom with some peanut butter). Put into a glass & freeze. Takes dogs hours to get it out as it has to defrost, tastes better than DS's toys & will cost you around 20cents for the stock cube. Have one in the freezer ready to go at all times.
