    Default Economical Wedding Dress Options

I've been asked to help with a wedding in our family this year and think wedding dresses can be a bit of a rip-off. Mine is residing in a suitcase in the roof space storage room! It was a deb dress and I thought it looked awesome!

Looking for some tips on where to find reasonably priced dresses that don't require 5000 fittings and cost about $1000 an hour to wear! Also a hitch (pardon the pun!) is the person lives in another state.

    Thanks in advance

Don't know how traditional the bride wants to be, but how about a store like studibaker, that's where my b/m dresses were from but they had lots of white and cream dresses that could have been for a bride.

Here's the link, they are in a few diff places, so it could be the place to go.

Pretty traditional - they haven't done the living together thing - probably full length/some 'veilage'. Thanks for the tip about Studebaker - I know she's thinking 3/4 length dressed for attendants and nothing too 'eveningy' or over that top for them- so that might work for them. Ta

I hired my wedding dress for about $500! I didn't see the point in having an expensive wedding dress sitting in the closet doing nothing, so saved a fortune and was able to spend the money elsewhere!! They fitted the dress for me and dry cleaned it when I was done with it all free!

I definately think a lovely white evening dress with a veil should suffice. A lot of brides are doing it these days - plus you can always wear it again!

I can't believe I spent OVER $2K on my wedding dress which I wore only once and is now sitting in a box at my mum's place!! That's ridiculous - I was obviously love struck and blinded by all the wedding preparations. If I had to do it again I would just go for an evening dress that is elegant or even one of those debutante ball gowns - some of them do look like wedding dresses.

I got mine from a place that sells mostly ball gowns - they made it for me in 3 weeks in white and it was perfect - and less than $300!

    Good luckl
