are you booked into a hospital? they will do it there if you are, and it will be bulk billed if you are a public patient

Do you have a health care card?

I got mine done at Greenslopes Private hospital, but they bulkbuilled because I have a HCC.

Just call around on the back of your referral form and ask if they bulk bill.

huh? you should have gone to the hospital for a visit around 12 weeks, then they give you the forma for the scan for 18-20 weeks then you go back to the hospital after your scan.

    or are you going private?

some hospitals are that busy. i almost couldnt get one until 19 weeks but got one early anyways.

i think as long as you have a health care card you can have an ultrasound bulk billed.

i had to have one when i found a lump in my breast when i was 20. i didnt have to pay because i had the HCC. i know its a different scan but i'm sure its the same thing with the HCC.

All hospitals do it different I think - I just had my first appt at 22 weeks, next one not till 30 weeks. Hospital was not an option for me as the hospital I am going to only do emergency scans.

No option for bulkbilling here either, going public, dont see hospy till 24 weeks, so OB refers to local imaging place, pay and get some back from medicare. Personally i think it is a joke that everyone does not get the same services, luck of the draw of where you live.

Sorry cant help OP, just had to vent.
