Default If your child was a bully at school what would you do?

I was just wondering what you would do if you found our that your child was mean to other children. What would your attitude be? how would you handle this sitution?
You've got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it. It's called perseverance. Lee Iacocca

Does this mean you dont think your child would do this?

Or maybe you would do nothing?

    Hi,

If my child was a bully at school I would try and find out the source of why he/she was like that... I would also explain to him / her that it was NOT acceptable to go around hurting others and that there was no need to do it. There is a difference between a child sticking up for themselves or just plain being a bully. I would certainly look into the problem abit more. There is no way I would like my child to be a bully or to be bullied by others!..

There must be something really bugging my kid to have them start bullying ...

I would firstly extract and apology for those concerned and then I would take my child out of school for a few days and work on finding the motivation for the change in behaviour. I would consult the gp, seek counselling and spend time with my child trying to figure out what is bugging them.

I would look at myself and see if there is anything in me that my child is mirroring (I personally know I have a temper). I would work with my child on how to modify behaviour and spend time making sure that my child knows that they are worth so much more in this world than being the one shunned by others because they can't be trusted to react nicely.

But most of all, I would pray that I got the right advice, guidance and practical help for my kid ...

I would obviously be upset & give her the always treat others the way you would like to be treated talk
& maybe if she was being a real problem bully I would seek proffesional councelling for her.

I would sit my kids down and talk to them about why they are being a bully and then I would make them apoligize to the child(ren) in question.

I would be devostated.... I'd prob take the same tactic my mum took with me (not that I was a bully but I saw alot of kids being picked on and did nothing, until I became older and realised that I was just as bad for not doing anything)

So anyways, mum and I had a really good relationship, and I would tell her everything about what happened during my day, and I remember this one time telling her of a girl that was being picked on daily by friends of mine. Well she turned the tables on me.. she got all upset telling me how she would feel if I came home one day and had been hurt and to imagine what it would be like to be that girl, or what if that was my brother being picked on.. Kinda made me realise to pull my head outta the sand and stick up for people..everyone deserves the right to grow, develop and experience life without being a walking target.
