play group mother meetings

Hello all

I am looking for a play group or mothers meeting in Perth South of the river does any one know of any? and can some one please explain to me the difference between play group and mothers meeting or mother hens???
As you can tell I am new at this my baby born on the 20th Jan

If you look up

www.playgroupaustralia/wa.com.au

you put in your postcode and it will list all the playgroups near you. The diff between mothers group and playgroups are ( i think, i never went to mothers group) is that mothers group is for parents of similar aged kids and you take turns to meet at someones house, and playgroup is for all aged kids and you meet at a centre or church or hall or whatever....someone will correct me if i am wrong

Not Sure about playgroups, But keep your eye on the perth thread's for the get togethers!

If you are a 1st time mum usually the child health nurse will run some sort of 1st time mothers group...ours was for 5 weeks at the centre then we just continued having coffee mornings etc...where are you SOR?? I have found playgroups a bit full on with a littlie most kids are 1+, your best bet would prob be a mothers group or a meet up from BH...

Thanks for that you guys well I will have to have a look around the child health centre that we go to is so far away from were we live there are ones closer but they are sooo busy but maybe we might be able to go to there play group or mothers meeting or some thing.

So tell me do you guys go to play group or mothers meetings what are they like??
