Toilet training my 19 month old please help

Hey Ladies.

I thought it was time to potty train my daughter. I think she is ready as everytime she does a wee and poo she points to her nappy and says the same thing everytime.


Today i took her nappy off for an hour and kept saying wee wee and pointing to the potty,she kept sitting on it. Prob over 10 times, then all of a sudden she weed on the floor.


I tried to quickly put her back on the potty to see if she would carry on weeing in there but she didnt.

Am i doing anything wrong?
Any1 have any great tips please?

My DD is over 3 now and I have trained her for wee's but she still refuses to do poo's so I am still going. I tried to toilet train her when she was 2, but she just didn't care if she wet herself or poo'd herself, so after a few days I went back to nappies and then tried again later and she is now completely out of nappies except she still does her poo's in her pants it's horrid.

In my experience, your daughter will let you know when she is are ready. Talking about and doing it are 2 different things.

Don't put yourself through the stress of trying to make her as it won't happen if she isn't ready.

If you want to try you must take nappies away completely for a few days so it is a good idea to stay home for a few days. See how she goes. If nothing happens then go back to nappies and try again in a few weeks.

Just have a bucket of nappysan on standby so you can wash her undies as you go, there will be plenty of accidents. you will know that it is the right time when she does it. it is like a lightbulb turning on in their head - once they get it they go really good.

Don't worry she will get there in the end

P.S - my DS was the total opposite, he was 2 1/2 when I first tried and he was done in 3 days, by the end of the week he was out of night nappies too. Just goes to show that all little ones are different - my DD is over 3 and I am still getting there it can be very frustrating, but persevere and don't give in to the nappies at least try for 3 days.
