Rolling in cot and sleeping face down

It's 2.30am and I've just spent the last 2 hours trying to get DD (7 months old) to sleep. She is insisting on rolling in her cot and sleeping not only on her tummy but face down

. What do I do? I can't let her sleep like that. I keep turning her over but she just rolls back. The only way I will be able to get her to go to sleep now is to feed her but she doesn't have/need night feeds any more. Any advice pleeeeease? I'm seriously frustrated and seriously sleep deprived

at 7 months she has plenty of muscle control to move her face and neck if needed. I would leave her be .. maybe watch her .. and you will see that she will move . . my missy does it sometimes. .she has a way of breathing out of her mouth even tho she is face down .. she wont suffocated. .I promise . .. she will move if the need arises!!

Try not to worry - DD decided that rolling over to sleep on her tummy was much more comfy when she was about 5 months old & she still does it to this day.

I wouldn't worry about the SIDS factor - once she's mobile enough to be rolling over, she'll move or wake up if she is having trouble breathing long before it's a danger.

My DD has been sleeping on her tummy since she was 3-4 months old, can't quite remember when. It started as soon as she learnt to roll over and before she could roll back. It was a losing battle with me, she would fight sleeping on her back.

At first she slept face down and I was like you so paranoid about it, and kept checking and checking.
Once she got use to it she moved her head to the side and hasn't really slept on her back since.

Relax a bit, if you are worried wait till she is fast asleep and gently move her head to the side. But be aware that she may 5 minutes later move it back face down again.

DS started sleeping on his tummy from a young age and i slept on my tummy nearly from birth apparently and we're both still here.

at 7 months she has the muscle control to move her head if she cant breath properly face down. i wouldnt worry too much about it.

If she needs to sleep on her tummy, let her! If she needs to feed, feed her

It sounds like these "rules" you are trying to follow are causing you a great deal of unnecessary stress. Go with your instincts and whatever works for you....Enjoy your bubba

You could try turning her head to the side gently whilst she's still on her tummy.

My DS started doing this once he could roll but my DD doesn't like sleeping on her back much and sleeps mostly on her tummy (except at night after her dream feed)and has done since about 2mths old. I have a babysense monitor in the cot as I was extremely paranoid about this and knowing that it is there has helped me sleep alot easier as it has a very loud alarm if her breathing goes below 20 breaths a minute.
