    Hi Hoping

depends on the age of the person, fsh levels are fairly all over the place. I had an excellent link but the info seems to have gone, from results I had the range they used in the UK were

folicular 1-10 iu/l - which has the 6 in the normal range.

    mid cycle - 5-20
    luteal - 1-10
    post meno >20

However, my first one was 8.8 and that was very good and consistant with my age if your under 30 it would be about 2 seemingly

if you become perimenopausal it can swing hugely, the UK said i couldn't do ivf as my level hit 19 as you see hitting the post menopause range yet a test in oz came in a 6 on a few occasions, though none of the IVF drugs ever worked

Thanks for that lxx. When I was doing the ivf my last test came back a 16. Now all the drugs are out of my system it has gone back down to 6.9. Drugs didn't work for me either but someone told me that maybe the dose the had me on was way to high and sending my levels way out of whack. they had me on 900 of gonal-f plus clomid. We are contemplating another test next month then if levels are still under ten maybe trying another clinic, or shoould we just cut our losses and still keep searching for a donor as I'm 43 this year I don't have alot of time to decide.

    Hi Hoping,

Here's a track of my FSH levels and what I was told:
    • Mar 2005 - 22.
    • June 2005 - 29. (at this stage I was told IVF was a no go and that an egg donor was our only chance).
    • Sep to Nov 2006 - 10. (Dr said that I could give it a go but that the odds were overwhelmingly against my success as I might not respond and the viability of my eggs was in question due to my FSH levels having been so high).
I gave an IVF cycle a go in Dec 2006 and produced 3 follicles - 2 of which fertilised. I fell pregnant however I had a very early m/c. My Dr had me on dose of 300 for puregon. I turn 41 in a few months - and although my DR is willing for me to have another cycle for myself we have decided to go with our donor.

As you are still searching for a donor - perhaps you could approach a cliinc to see what they say. Only they can guide you....

    Good luck
