In cold water - it's best to hand wash and not submerge the toy. Use soapy water and a sponge/face cloth.

The ones of EJ's that are washable i've always just thrown them in with the normal washing and they've always come out fine

But most importantly: Don't let your kids see them hanging from the line by their ears. They will think you are waaay cruel! (I didn't trust Mum for some time!)

    LOL never thought of that!

I just throw mine in the wash on a normal cycle. But I only wash them on really hot days so that they will dry properly.

My DD has eczema so I wash to get rid of dust mites also. I freeze the toys for 24 hours then I wash them in the machine (if it says i can) or hand wash with some laundry liquid and eucalyptus oil (supposed dust mite killer). I dry them out in the sun. Freezing toys, machine washing them on 60 degrees and tumble drying them gets rid of dust mites. I don't have a dryer so I just hang them to dry.

I just throw mine in with our clothes on a regular wash. I don't line dry them though because the machine spins them out so good they are practically dry.
