The thing is i know 1 person that lives in brisbane and i only know her through facebook. so its not like i have a boo ku (alot) of friends in aus. my mum knows folks in melbourne and i think sydney but not bris. my hope with doing this is to start a new life. the good thing in all of this though is i am still young. 20s young. so it may not be as hard to make this move as it would be if i were a senior. and right away i wouldnt need a car, i do bike alot, sometimes 80 or so miles a day. if not more.

Have you ever done a big move before? Interstate or overseas?

My family moved here from India years ago and we had family and it was tough. You can do it but I'd seriously recommend you move near family for a while before you buy.

Housing is still worth buying here even tho interest rates are higher in the US. You will need a car as even tho most cities are public transport friendly it's not the most convenient when you have a kid.

What are your job qualifications? Would you find a job in bris? Or would Syd or melb be better? You won't qualify for medicare or child care benefits for the first year unless you are an aus citizen. How will you work and pay your expenses whilst looking after a child?

My hubby is in the army and I move all the time so trust me when I say moving is big.

i don't have a kid yet. i will be getting married here in Missouri before we start packing. my family has agreed to try and help with the expenses as far as getting our buts over there. my mum sad she will try to help and i do have help moving things both to the ship to get things transported and then i think i will have them come with me on temorary visas to help me unpack. i am hoping i will be able to combine mine and my soon to be spouse's checks to help cover costs. i am just nervous about once getting there. i have been dreaming of this since i was 12, but now that it is actually happening, it makes me tense, but i know once things are said and done, it will all be worth it in the long run. now to answer your question have i ever made a big move. my answer is not really. i moved from a town called malden 10 miles south of us (i dont know how that goes into kilometers) to bernie, where i live now. what me and my fiance wanted was to do was to wait until we got settled down. but as far as the goodies (furniture, tvs, computers (5 to the exact), beds (which we may not take), and the piano which will definantley go with us. now while i am thinking about it, i was wanting to mabey bring our left hand drive vehicle. i know vehicles down there are right hand drive vehicles. is there any way i may be able to bring the left hand drive vehicle into australia. (it is a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. it has its issues, but it cruises) i will also say that we do want to have a kid at some point, we are just worried about a number of things with moving that many people into the country. and i would like them to be born as an australian citizen as does my fiance. but nevertheless this is stressful i think on her more than anyone. i am as well stressed but i know it'll all be worth it. i would like to get into the metorologist field. i am pretty interested and have done my schooling on it.(sorry for going on and on and on).
i will state that i have a natural ability to be able to navigate cities well. (i know this cuz saint louis is a pain in the but to get around, if you dont turn on a side street you may end up across the river.) one thing i am concerned about is that the county i live in (Stoddard) is a pain in the but to do anything with. the sheriff's department is nuts, so that doesnt help and the people who run the county dont do a great job either.
