    Default Napping in the evening

Liam has ditched his morning sleep....

He wakes at 7ish, and is awake until midday - 1pm. He will then sleep between 1 hour - 2 hours.

He is wanting a nap around 6pm, but it is interfering with going to bed at 8pm. Should I let him nap or keep him awake? He gets very bad tempered if I keep him awake, but its even worse when he's not asleep by 9pm.

    Help!!!!

    Love a very exhausted CK

I would try and adjust his routine. Maybe if he is tired in the evening an earlier bed time might work better than a nap and then bed at eight. Just a thought

I tried to put him to bed at 7ish...but he was awake and dancing by 8.30.

Realistically he needs 2 daytime naps but he's not going down by choice

Hmmm I had the same prob with Xavier for the longest time, if I put him to bed earlier at night he would consider it his second day time nap and be awake again at night when we were ready to go to bed.
I don't know how I managed to change it, but I have moved his sleep back to between 11am-12pm (he used to go down between 1-3pm) so that he is well and truly ready for bed at 7pm and that seems to be working good now, but it took time and patience.

It's tricky trying to work out the perfect routine for them at this age, well it was for us anyway.

Can you try and make him go down for a morning sleep, at least leave him in his cot and let him have some quiet time, he might get back into the swing of morning sleeps again if you persist in trying to put him down and tell him it's sleepy time now. Sorry I am a novice here too, but all you can do is trial and error and see what works lol!!
