Breast Abcess

I Have had masitius when DD was 3 weeks old. She is now 3 months old, I found a lump and had an ultrasound and they said it was ?abcess, I have shooting pain and the lump is now 3x the size, hard and red aound site. I am on antibiotics but still getting pain. The other breast gets the odd shooting pain now too. Can any one help or have any advice for me on what I should do.

Maybe a visit back to your GP...until then, can you put a wheatbag on it to settle the pain??

Hi i had a really bad case of mastistis nearly two months ago and i was on antibiotics. Now i was also getting the sharp like pains that you mentioned and i believe you because they are really painful. Anyway what i found really helped me was cabbage leaves, have you tried that ? Also do you think that you might have another bout of mastistis as it is quite common fore it to come back. I know it may sound really painful but you could try to feed from that side as much as possible as you know you must really try to get rid of that lump and try to express if you cannot stand bub feeding from that side.
