    Default another lite'n'easy question

I know there are alot of threads about it here but this one is specifically to do with pregnancy

I know everyone is saying it is a bad idea but if you are having a certain number of calories isnt that better for bubs then say take away 3 times a day?

for example you are on the 1200 calorie diet but when you found out you had a bfp you switched to 1500 or 1800

so you had enough calories and wasnt loosing a big chunk of weight but just slowly

please not causing an argument, just asking as I am ttc and also on the diet so I dont want to harm my bubs when I do fall pregnant that is

If you are trying to fall pregnant then I don't see the harm in it. If you were already pregnant then you might have to go up to the 1800 calories or come off it completely, or supplement it. You would need to ask a doctor this. Or a dietitian.

Lots and lots of people use it just as food, not as a diet. Because the food is gorgeous. If I had known that I would have probably been on it years ago when I was living on my own.

I am breastfeeding so I am on the 1500 calories and I can tell you right now, I am eating much more than I was before, but its healthy stuff, not rubbish. I am allowed to lose half a kilo a week while breastfeeding, and I am taking fenugreek to ensure my supply isn't affected.

When I fell pregnant I was on diet pills and going to the gym for 2 hours a day. We were ttc but I didn't think it would work so soon!! oops.

I wouldn't recommend that! and I don't think Lite n Easy would be as bad as doing that!

I spoke to my OB about this as I was on Lite and Easy when I became pregnant. He actually said it would probably ensure that I was eating better food than I was previously.

He did say that I could stay on 1200 but if I felt hungry, to have a sandwich or a bowl of cereal as well.

I'm not a Lite n Easy-er yet (will get my first order Thursday week!), but I would say it'd be a very healthy alternative to what you might eat other times.

Eating healthy, low-fat food, is, like you said, far better than eating take-away all pregnancy. I would recommend using one of the higher calorie programs though... just to 'make sure' you're getting all you need.

TBH though, during my pregnancy, I think I actually ate LESS than I had before my pregnancy. I also ate a lot healthier too (because the smell of take-away was offensive). My stomach was squashed due to my massive baby, and so I just ate less than normal.

They also say no to 'eat for two'. IMO, it's more about nutrients and quality, rather than how much you're consuming.

If you're in any serious doubt, contact your doctor.
I've now lost 36kg thanks to the gastric sleeve!

I just got my first delivery today and I can tell you right now that there is no WAY I ate this well (or this much!) when I was pregnant with my kids. I ate McDonalds for lunch 3 or 4 days a week while I was working and I reckon that is much worse than Lite n easy
