    Question What to wear

Hey you life giving ladies, I need a bit of guidance.

We're going to a wedding on Saturday, & want some advice on how to dress MJ & me for the occasion

I havent been to a wedding in years other than my own.

On the invite it says "lounge"

    Thanks in advance

no idea RB thats a new term I've not heard.
I'm going to a wedding on sat too, but its just the good old 'smart casual' so I am wearing a skirt with a nice sparkly top. The challenge will be making sure DH doesn't end up in his worn out jeans!

geez if I was to turn up in what I wear when I am on the lounge these days it would be shorts and an old T-shirt!

    have a good time

"lounge" normally means like a lounge suit i am pretty sure...
    Its means smartly dressed

so a nice dress or skirt and a dressy top
or even a nice ladies suit if you have one...
Bubs will look cute in anything so I wouldny worry too much about that

    Hey rainbowbrite

"A lounge suit is another name for business suit and usually indicates a semi-formal function. A darker suit with a white shirt and tie are appropriate.

On some occasions, if the function is an informal outdoor afternoon affair, then the lounge suit can be more casual, lighter colored, and worn without a tie. But, when in doubt, always dress more formally.

For women, a lounge suit normally indicates a shorter length dress or outfit as opposed to a formal floor length gown."

    This is from: http://www.drdaveanddee.com/loungesuit.html

Hope this helps. The other thing you can try is Google-ing it. Just type in lounge suit and see what pops up!

    Have fun!

Ok thanks for that. That takes care of me & DH but not sure how to dress MJ. I have a white dress, almost like a christining gown, would that be ok?

Default I think women are better off

I've always thought of lounge suit as a step down from black tie. I think women have it alot better as womens dress codes seem to be alot less rigid. I just wouldn't wear after 5 type stuff and before this year I would have said not sparkly. But I love that sequins are everyday wear now .

And I wouldn't worry too much about MJ, just dress her in something pretty. Kids don't get to wear their party gear all that much (at least my kids don't).

    Cheers

    Hey
the White dress sounds nice for MJ!! Is it long like a christening dress? If it is i probably would opt for for something a bit shorter!!

LOL Thats true. Its her godmothers wedding so she will be fussed over heaps.

I'm honestly very nervous about going. Its a HUGE wedding, at St Mary's at North Sydney followed by the reception 4hrs later at Darling Harbour. Nothing like our small garden wedding

No if she could stand it'd be floor length. Not like the 1m long one she wore to her naming day
