Default Osteopath - Has your bub been to one?

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has taken their bubs to an Osteopath and what was the reason? Was the treatment successful?

I haven't taken my babies but I've taken myself I study alongside student osteos, and let me say, they are very knowledgeable practioners and very safe and gentle! I love my osteo, she fixes all my preggie aches for me and keeps me headache free with her adjustments.
Are you thinking of taking your baby?

Yup - I took Tayla on monday and she was a changed baby! But, she has had a few bad nights and they have said it is because she is too hot as I wrap her up too much!

I'm glad she got some relief! My babies disliked tight wrapping... other babes love it.

Yes ... I took Daniel because he had a very mishapen head and severe reflux.

I used to find that his reflux would get worse for a couple of days and then get better than it was before the appointment. I took him for approx 15 sessions ... in this time his head started to even out (he had a flattening that cut across one side of his head diagonally) and although subsequent changes can be attributed to his being upright more, it really did improve a lot during the treatment.

He used to be a bit whingy for a couple of days afterwards, but would then settle into be a beautifully compliant and placid baby who slept most of the day and night!

The good thing was that my osteopath would show me what to feel for and how to massage his tummy to relieve his pain in between appointments.

He was 7 months old when we took him and it was money well spent ... I think that his almost excessive sleeping for a while afterwards was allowing his body to rest and grow ... he was eating well and his reflux was completely gone by the time he was 12months.

As I said, his was a severe case of reflux ... at 2 ˝ now, he is only just over double his birthweight. Mind you, I wouldn't have wanted him to double his birthweight too early on ... he was nearly 6kg at birth!
