    Default Connective Tissue Disease?

I am just wondering if anybody out there has connective tissue diease or knows somebody who does.

I may have this and I am wanting to find out as much as I can about it. At the moment I dont really know much about it so if anybody has any advice or information I would really love to hear it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Monyfelix,

I hope all is OK with you. I know several people who have Marfans if that is what you are talking about. They would be ale to give you plenty of info and are likely to be willing for me to link you up with them (I'd have to check with them of course). PM me and let me know if I am on the right track and I can check with them about swapping details of e-mail or something to link you up.

    Praying for you.

Thanks so much for the replies!

I am really confused about it all at the moment and only know I am in a lot of pain most of the time. I have google-ed it and it said the disease can be fatal so now I am really worried!

I have joint and muscle pain, tingling in my hand, eye problems and reflux with is apparently all tied back to the CTD.

I dont see the specialist until the 12th March!!

Is it Fibromyalgia(sp)?? this is not fatal but also cannot be cured rather health is maintained through gentle excercise and medication, very hard to diagnose.

Apparently not fibromyalgia. My MIL has fibro so I do know a little bit about it though.

My GP mentioned that whatever I have will need to be controlled with steroids??

Steroids suppress your auto immune system so I'm guessing it maybe be something similiar to Lupus.

I would just go in there and ask questions until you are satisfied you understand what is possibly going on with your body.

Hey there,i dont know if this has anything to do with what you might have but im going through a similar situation atm,i might have something wrong with my immune system,i had some symptoms of not being able to swallow(dry mouth) i have been to a specialist who done a full blood picture to check my red blood cells, what i might have is called sjorgens syndrome i have read up about it and its symptoms and says that you can get bad fatigue which ive had for about 6 years, the funny thing is i was reading about it and it said it is connected to what you might have.Hugs to you i hope everything comes back clear for you and me.

Thanks so much for all the responses!

I think I am just going to have to wait to see the specialist though. My GP was FREAKING out about my blood test results so she has me really quite worried!

Hopefully we get it sorted out ASAP and maybe I will start feeling normal again!

Its a hard one to get answers on as there is no one type it fits into.

my sisters one attacks the joints. She is on a similar therapy to chemo.
    She is also on steroids.

the things that make it difficult is different people have different types.

It not yet recognised enough to get all the answers,..they still dont know what it is they are dealing with.
    OMG!!!!

I really hope the answer is simple!!
