    Default What's your age gap?

DH and I started trying when our DS was 9 m/o for #2. We're surprised, but pleased that we fell pg straight away and happy with our gap. (We wouldn't have started trying if we didn't want to)

Most everyone we've told seems very surprised and firstly thinks it was an accident. Then when we say it was by choice tell us we're crazy. I'm cool with it as we're very happy with our choice. We did what was right for us, but it made me wonder.

Did/do you have (or plan to have) a large or small age gap and what have peoples responses been to your choices?

well, we have a 15 month gap, followed by a 7 year gap
    both is FANTASTIC

with the second the reaction was- uhhh did it happen? (it didn´t happen- we tried hard LOL ) or couldn´t you have waited longer...(no, why? for YOU?)

with the third it was - uhhh did it happen? (ummmm noo)
oh why would you start all over again?

    i think you get it...

but we also had wonderful and lovely comments like, well done, i think you are doing well having a close/ wide gap....blablabla

in the end- you have to enjoy it and be sure about it- not other people, honestly i couldn´t care less what anyone else thinks about that....

Did people respond differently to the different gaps? This is just a curiosity thing. Just thought it'd be interesting to see what peoples perspectives seem to be.

I have a 4 year age gap between DS and DD. I do love it, although sometimes it is hard for DS to understand that DD is still a baby and cant understand right and wrong just yet.. I have to say it was very easy as DS is quite independant already.

I will also be having a 14month age gap between DD1 and DD2.... not planned! and when I fell pregnant i thought it would be great..but now as DD1 is 13months and well.. what can I say, I know now its going to be quite a handful and I have heard that it is alot of hardwork but is something that will be paid off in the long run..

No one has made any real comments to me, but I will add DS loves being the big brother and bossing around

i think there are people who constantly know everything better- whingers, naggers,
    knowitalls...
and then there are people who just couldn´t care less, who think it is your choice , think you are doing a great job and think in the end it is not my business...

as i said before with both gaps i got the same reactions, but actually with the bigger one the comments were kind a rude....
eg.. oh did you get another one, so you don´t have to go back to work (mind you i was working for years before i had no.3) - oh, it must have been an accident, you wouldn´t choose such a big gap, would you? (no comment!!!)

We've got 16 months between our two, totally planned..

I've had people tell me that i'm crazy and i'm not going to cope.. Blah Blah Blah. I KNOW its going to be hardwork but will defiantly pay off in the long run!!

    I have a 8 yr gap and a 7yr gap.

People always say to me" gee thats a big age difference".

Um yea I know but thats just the way it happened.
I used to try and explain why, but now I don't really care what they think.

    It works great for us!
