Default Not as much Movement - Should I be worried??

Hello - I am 23 weeks pregnant and from 16 weeks I have been feeling movements. They have been very strong for the last 3 or 4 weeks and happening up to 10 to 15 times a day.

The last couple of days the movements are not as strong and are not happening as often. I know I may sound paraniod but as this is my first pregnancy I am wanting to know if this is normal?????

If you are worried about your babies health give the midwives where you are booked in to have your baby a call. There are many reasons why you might feel less movement such as baby changing position but when in doubt, call your midwife!

    Hi Amy - G,
    I'm from Canberra too!
It might be just that your baby is having a few lazy days, but if you're worried go see your GP or whoever is looking after you and they will probably check the heart beat which is always a nice reassuring sound. My DS was so lazy he was asleep through my labour
It's when you don't feel them at all thats a worry. Bub might be in a position were you can't feel it as much too. Good Luck, sometimes I wish we had see-through bellies so we could keep an eye on our bubs all the time

It's ok to have a few less active days Sometimes when a bub moves position we feel the kicks really differently and that can need adjusting to as well. Go here to map your belly and work out where bubs is http://www.spinning babies.com/ If you get really concerned go ask for a quick doppler from your MW or drink some iced water which usually stirs the poor little blighters up. Best reserved for emergencies, not used as a party trick

Thanks everyone - yeah my placenta is at the front which is why I was so suprised that I felt movement so early. My friend has just lost a baby at 7 months and ever since that I have been a little paranoid about things. It would be nice if we had a see through belly so we could see what was going on!!!

I appreciate your thoughts. I will see how things go at least she is still moving at times.
