our little one has shown us that it isn't all in vain, we will be TTC soon&can't wait for our long awaited miracle baby
From what I have heard the Dyson brand of vaccums are the best. They never lose suction and are bagless and easy to empty. Quite expensive though but I guess if they last for years you'd make your money back. I am saving for one at the moment.

I got one from Godfrey's, it's a Wertheim and has a turbo head which picks up all the cat hair. I am very pleased with it but it costs around $1000.

My goal is to be fit and healthy again.
I have an Electrolux Twin Clean. It has the motorised head for use on carpet, but also has a sensor so that when you run stright back on to hard floors it turns the brushes off. It has the cyclonic bagless system so it doesn't loose any suction until it is completely full (or unless you suck up a tissue). Best of all it has self cleaning filters. You twist them and is literally vaccums itself clean. The only filter you have to clean is the hepa filter which is easy to get to and you just rinse clean.
RRP was $899 but you can usually talk people down. The salespeople I spoke to about also sell Dyson and they thought this one was better. I trusted their judgement and haven't looked back.

We have a Wertheim too, it is wonderful![]()
I have a kirby...cost around $3000 but it is worth it....my MIL has had hers for 20 years and it still works great...mine can do everything you can think of including carpet shampooing....it is great on the coaches with the cat fur and my sinus has been much beter since using this cleaner
Lots of my friends said we were nuts for getting such a expensive brand ....but now everyone wants for borrow it![]()
Cheers Helen

My parents have had their Nilfisk for about 22yrs and it's still going. Theirs is a small commercial vacuum, made of stainless steel not plastic. It works with or without bags, can suck up small amounts of water without a problem (eg vacuuming a bathroom floor while the kids are in the bath like I sometimes do). It doesn't have any of the filters the newer vacuums have, but I have asthma and allergies to lots of things (tho my sisters are worse) and we have also always had cats that were allowed inside whenever they wanted and neither of us ever had any probs.
I'm also in need of a new vacuum, one of these days I'll get around to buying one, but for now I'll keep using my cheap one (and borrowing mums once a month) I've decided not to get a Dyson, as good as everyone says they are I really don't want something that is made of so much plastic.
