    Question 15 month HELP

Hey, I once again reach out the words of wisdom of BH....
My DD now 15months won't go to sleep at night..
It all started 3 days ago, she woke at 4am and wouldn't go back to sleep til close to 5.30am...she had 2-3 hours during the day. That night I put her down at 7pm and was crying and unsettled til close to 10pm , then slept through til 7am...and again had 2-3 hours during the day. Last night I put her down at 7pm and she cried AGAIN for about an hour or so, then woke again at 4am...
Any thoughts on why this is happening NOW?? She is teething (molars) but I give her Panadol/Brauer and it does nothing...she sleeps fine during the day but won't settle at night??
    Any thoughts/tips/advice(besides a 4b2) muchly appreciated....

    Question Still going?

Well last night was no better, took an hour to settle her again.... then she woke at 4am and didn't settle til 5am ....this is so strange?? I am at a loss what else to try? I made sure she ate 5 "good" meals and she still woke hungry? And today when I put her down for her nap at 12pm she cried again???

    Any thoughts ANYONE????

    Hey there

My DS is only 10.5 mths so I don't really have any good advice as I haven't experienced it yet!!
Perhaps she is having nightmares and is afraid to fall back to sleep? Um - do you have a little night light in her room. Would this help? Or some music playing...

Or mybe she has a slight earache or something - just enough to bother her without giving you any obvious signs...

Sorry I can't be of more help - I do hope it gets better soon for you though

My lil man who is also 15 months will sometimes wake for a top up bottle about 2am ish so I feel your pain..

    Things I try are

Reduce daytime sleep, and make sure awake by 2.30pm at the latest.
Make sure they have heaps of physical activity
Bath with some lavendar oil B4 bed

If I have to go into him during the night it's strictly business.. no eye contact, no talking and get in and get out asap (gwd I sound harsh hey ), this is so he learns how to put himself back to sleep.

This happens at this age. It's when toddlers become aware that they have there own wills and they love to battle ours.

I suggest reducing the day time sleep, or bringing it earlier into the day. One routine I like to use with 12-18monthers is:

Awake - 7am no matter how tired
Breakfast, bath, dress, play, outing, snack/lunch and bottle/cup before sleep

    Nap - 12-2pm
snack/lunch, play, activities, snack/dinner, bottle/cup half an hour before bed, wind down

    Bedtime - 7pm

This normally works really well, but does depend upon the baby. Good Luck

    Smile Thanks...

    Thanks for that ladies
Well tonight (so far its now 8pm) we have had success ...Today I put her down at 12.15pm for her sleep, she was un-settled again, but went to sleep about 1pm, and I got her up at 3pm so she only had 2 hours instead of her "normal" 2-3 hours. Also I took her into her room at 6.45pm like normal, but I sat with her before her book and bottle, just "talking" thought I might need to "be-friend" her room...so I am not sure which worked but something has....
So thanks again for all the tips...muchly appreciated....
