    Default Zara has arrived!

Ok, now ive got my little girl sleeping during the day I can finally attempt to write my birth story!

Monday 11/12 I was booked in for my induction. I had gestational diabetes and hypertension. I was nervous but it was also a true blessing as my 22yr old sister was going in for major surgery for breast cancer on the Friday and she was our support person. So she was able to be there with DH and I. Yay!

Monday night I stayed in hospital and they put in the cervidil. I took at sleeping tablet as the lady next to me was so noisy!!! 3am I woke up to mild contractions and was excited but it was an annoying niggly pain so I was up for the rest of the morning.

730am tuesday 12/12 Dh and sis arrived. We waited for 4hrs before being put in the birth suite. Bit annoyed but ok. My waters were then broken which wsnt as bad as I had thought. The internal the dr did before hand was the killer! OUUUCCCH. hehe. My waters were meconium stained which im sure my bub was distressed a few days before when my sis was diagnosed and I freaked! Poor bub!

Synotocin was then administered at 1pm. The canuala killed!! The Bit*h Dr was so rough. she was the same one that did the rough internal. I really hated her and hoped she finished work b4 my bub was born as I did not want her to deliver my baby! Luckily she finished shortly after and a gorgeous dr was assigned to me after that.

I was coping w. the contractions quite well, dancing around the room, stomping my feet, hanging off DH. Finally after 6hrs of contractions and being told i was only 4cms I got the epidural. What a godsend! It was virtually painfree when he put it in (just bad being hunched over and getting a contraction when he was putting it in)

So now 9pm came and we r just watching TV and relaxing, watching the contractions. Bubs heart rate kept dropping when they turned up the drip so i was slow and steady. 10pm they did an internal and i was 9 1/2cms! I was so excited. 11pm we started to push. The midwife suggested turning down the epi so i could push better. I more then aggreed and was eager to get this over and done with! What a mistake! I dont know if she turned it off all together or what but the contractions were all of a sudden hard fast and killing me!! After each 3rd push i was voimiting and getting a huge pain in my right side. After an hour I gave up! I dnt remember it all but apparently I was jut laying there refusing to do anything and yelling that if i didnt get in the shower now i was goign to die! hehe. They got the Dr in and I remember her telling me if i didnt push she would have to use forceps which i did not want! So i pushed. I pushed and pushed like never before! Finally at 12.27am on 13/12 my gorgeous baby girl was born!

I didnt cry cause i was too exhausted and in a total daze from exhaustion. I couldnt believe i had been so lucky to have a girl as everyone had said "oh it will be a boy!" I kept saying to DH check again, "r u sure its a girl?" hehe She was perfect, 3.4kgs, 51.5cms and HC of 36cms.

My recovery from stitches was pretty painful and I still cant see how I will ever want to do that again! I just hope I find the courage one day. Everyday day my little girl grows im seeing why its all worth it though. I love her more then i ever thought possible!

    Sorry ! Thanks for reading!

Thanks so much for sharing your story. I hope you're well on the road to recovery from those stitches. I hope your sister's going okay too. What a washing machine you've been put through lately. Lucky you've got your beautiful little bub to cuddle and make it all feel okay. Congratulations. you did fantastically and she's beautiful.
