DD was in local paper!!!

Hi All,

I am just a proud mummy telling everyone that our DD Tayla was in the Northside Chronicle & City North news last week (Brisbane North Side local papers). She was on page 5 with a 1/2 page picture!!!!!!!

We attended the Welcome to the Community ceremony at 7th Brigade Park the Sunday previous and a photographer took her picture as she wandered around with DH before the ceremony. She looked very cute with her sunnies on.

We are proud as punch. Not sure if anyone saw it but hopefully someone has as I know a lot of Bub Hubbers are on Brisbane's Northside.

We now have a page 5 girl..WHOOhooooo

You bet, I even went to the newspaper's office and got lots of copies.

Tayla's a great name isn't it!!

It's the best!

the spelling was decided by the fact that I wanted her to be able to buy stickers and novelty item's with her name on it in years to come - yes trivial but as a child, my full name is unusual and i was never able to buy keyrings etc with my name on it and I was devastated!

I have already bought her a photoframe, piggy bank and room labels all with TAYLA proudly displayed on them!

that is great that tayla was in the paper - thought it was the paper i get here but that's north-west news & no cute tayla on page 5! my DD will be in the sunshine coast daily on sunday for her 1st birthday (third time she has had her photo in the paper)

I too have bought all that sort of stuff for my two DDs - us mums are a crazy funny bunch

Bugger, I don't get your paper, wish I'd seen it, I always get a thrill when I see somebody in the paper that I know (even if not personally, lol).

Our local paper is the Pine Rivers Press and another one that we get on Friday but it's definitely not yours which is a shame.

And I know what you mean about buying ready made things with your kids names on them, we have a Teagan and can't get anything for her, everything is spelt Tegan (if you can even find them).

Last month I had to send away for a bookmark with her name on it, but she loves it and feels super special now.

I must admit I've been a bit slack buying things with her name on it, but now I'll have to get my act together to make sure I can find things.

We have been given a name tag for her bedroom door and I've seen a cup made by the same people so I should get that.

A bookmark is a great idea though, Tayla would love it as her favourite thing to carry at the moment is a paint swatch with 5 different types of brown on it..I know not very interesting but she loves it.

Sorry no-one has seen the photo yet.

Melbee 70 - how exciting to be in the paper so many times..hope you get lots of copies to keep and show her later on.

I forgot to say, Tayla's photo was very serious - she wouldn't smile and the headline was 'baby ceremony a serious business' with the under photo caption 'what are you lookin at' very funny

definately one to keep for her 21st!!
