Question Need advice - 2wks old and unsettled?

    Hi
Our little girl is 2 weeks old and for the past few days we have been finding it hard to get her to settle and sleep for longer than 30 minutes.
Sometimes we can cuddle her and she will settle, but will wake once we put her back in the bassinette.
It is sometimes worse after feeding, but not always
We have also noticed a sore above her tail bone which oozes - is this normal? Should we talk to a GP?
She was born 3 weeks early - is it a maturity issue?
Anyone have similar experience? Any suggestions?
    Thx Roxi

Yes I would go to GP, it doesn't sound normal to me, could be why she is not settling too...

If she's unsettled after a feed she might have wind?

I'd go to the GP about the sore!!
At 2 weeks old, your wee babe is just getting used to the big wide world. Her instincts are strong, if she can't smell/hear/feel you nearby she may wake up and cry. Slings are a great investment ( you can get on with your day while she sleeps blissfully on you), or seeing as your baby is so young, you could take a little nap with her if you are tired. It's very normal for babies this young to be unsettled... Everything is new and newborns senses are easily overstimulated. You can't give her too many cuddles, so if they help then keep it up

Good luck and congrats on your little girl

I definetly agree with Becky. Anything like that you should have checked out.

If your not sure what should be checked by a GP your CHN should be able to help also.

    Goodluck getting her settled.

She sounds like a perfectly normal 2 week old baby. If she was 3 weeks early, she was possibly meant to be still inside at this point so she's going to be a baby who needs constant holding, carrying and skin on skin time with you to help her establish breastfeeding and keep her healthy. See a doc about that sore which can't be good.
Try these for some more info about how babies behave.

sorry to say but it sounds like a normal newborn may still be hungry after a feed so maybe try to let her suckle a bit more often, could be a comfort sucker like my dd was
