Default CSIRO vs Tony ferguson vs weightwatchers

    Hi Gals,

I am going back to my trusty pals at bubhub to ask for some help-

I want to loose 5-10 kilos- (I am overweight but not by much) I have been looking at various diets and am wanting to know your opinions-
I know there is another thread tlaking about how fantastic the Tony Fergusson diet is - but after reading the fine print it says it is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, while I am not pregnant or breastfeeding at the moment, I am certainly trying to be..... I want a diet/health plan that is suitable for before during and after pregnancy,

Any suggestions or feedback on any of the options would be appreciated,

you cant really even compare tony ferguson. its a very low calorie diet and realistically should only be used in cases of obesity

    Thanks girls for your input,

I thought that may be the case with the tony fergusson diet- I have a friend who was 135 kilos and is now down to 96 in just over 6 months, It owrked fantastically for her, but she said she wasn't sure how it would go for me.

I will look into WW in my area,

Has anyone done the CSIRO diet, I had a look in one of the books and the recipes look SO YUMMY. But does it actually work?

i did csiro diet for one week...found out i was pg
i losely followed it....drank more milk then i should have...i lost 4.5kg in that week though....im losely following it again...just starting though...no scales...it helps lose weight in your tummy though...

id do this over tony fergusion...csiro teaches you a lifestyle habit rather then a quick fix...you cant drink shakes all your life...but you can eat anything on csiro...plus you'll get lots or iron...if you do get pg, just add a bit more dairy and a slice of bread you'll still be eating heaps and wont effect the baby

there are a few ways to do anything, but my way is always right.

    Default diets

having not tried the other 2 diets i cannot comment on them

i have to disagree on those bagging out tony furgeson though its not just a quick fix diet you do a kickstart diet till u have reached a weight you wish to maintain then its a maintence diet ike the ones you are talking about you learn whilst doing kickstart what to eat and what not to eat once reached goal weight you start a maintenece program consisting of the same foods you were eating throughout the kickstart its not all just shakes as some might think.

in saying that i have tried many times to lose weight through various methods only having failed in the first week as i was so hungry etc i have been on tf for 2 weeks and feel fantastic my skin is great im never hungry your always eating and i can stick to it unlike anything else and im a very easy person to give up

it is very worth it and im not looking to lose a huge amount only 13kgs so no it is not just for those that are obese

Well, I have done the CSIRO diet and the TF diet..and am currently doing the TF, though very losely...
CSIRO is more about healthy eating and healthy lifestyle, changing you diet to benefit your health etc, where as TF is a weight loss diet.
CSIRO would be good while you are TTC and Preg and you could use it as a "family" diet so they are huge pluses.. TF I find very good, as I have a HUGE amount of weight to lose, so its great for me...I have lost 24kg in about 8 weeks, but its only because I have so much weight to lose.
Sorry to confuse you , but you need to find a diet that suits you and your lifetsyle...Hope that helps
You know what, I deserve better. I will stand up and out of your shadow, I will feel the wind in my wings, I will learn to fly, you can stay and enjoy my freedom or leave, either way I was born to fly.

    Hi

I'm on the CSIRO twelve week plan at the moment - Week 7 and so far I've lost just under 7 kilos DH has lost 6.

I find it fantastic, we both love the food its easy to cook and the weight is steadily going.

I have previously done weight watchers but not really with any success it is too flexible for me and I object to paying the money

    Good luckx

i have done TF, CSIRO and lite n easy.

I used TF to get rid of 6kgs, worked a treat. Have not put ny back on. Does not have to be for massive weightloss, worked to get my last little bit off that would just not budge.

CSIRO was not overly successful for me, we already eat basicaly like that so was not enough of a shake up for me. Lost 2 or 3kgs in 2 months.

L&E was good for portion sizes and not having to do anything food prep wise!!

I truly believe exercise plays a big part, like gillian off biggest loser says, it all comes down to calories in vs calories out.

    Good luck.
