I'm going there at Christmas. I've been married for almost 16 years, so probably no turtle engagement for me.

There was absolutely nothing romantic about mine. I don't actually remember how we decided. I then had a ring custom made. DH picked it up and then I nagged him for a romantic dinner for him to give it to me. He properly proposed over pizza with the ring.

I hate my proposal. We were at the end of a weeks holiday in Vanuatu, that day I got badly burnt and Im sure I had heat stroke and just wanted to go to bed after dinner but as it was our last night then dp wanted to go down to a nice spot on the beach. This all sounds lovely which it was but as we were laying on the chairs chatting dp whispers something about getting married.
I actually didnt realise he was popping the question as he was positioned behind me so I said no, you smell thinking it was a joke!

He then doesnt talk to me all evening then the next day I get cranky at him when I found out it was THE question I had been wsiting 5 years for!! I told him if he actually clarified it at the time I would have said yes and it could have been a funny story.

After lunch he then asks me under a tree and I said yes and we caught a plane home

DF proposed last year of a carriage ride through the city in Melbourne.
It was just before a night out with friends and dinner at Rockpool. So I got my engagement and an awesome night celebrating with our best friends. It was perfect!

Hubby took me to coffs harbour for a holiday. We spent the day at the butterfly sanctuary,(he was going to ask me there i later found out but there was a school excursion lol) lunch at the beach then went back to our cabin we were staying in and a had a beautiful spa on the verandah overlooking the bush then he asked me. We've not long celebrated our 7yr wedding anniversary & 14yrs together. (We got married 7yrs to the day of getting together) ❤

I don't often tell "our" story as its not terribly romantic. We had only been together about a month when DH asked me while we were having s.ex! I thought he was joking, so replied "maybe". He asked me 3 more times over the next few months before I asked if he was serious. Turns out he was, so I said OK.

He got down on his knee and asked me again when we picked up the ring, so I usually tell people that story as its not x.rated

Heh, I haven't told anyone "ours".
We had been together about 7 years and had pretty much agreed we wouldn't get married as it didn't mean much to either of us. Then one night, after some pretty great sex, we were laying together and he asked me to marry him. "Seriously?" "Yeah" "ummm, okay!". Got a ring made a few months later, and have now been engaged for over 5 years. We're both too lazy to plan a wedding :P

We had been together almost 2 years. We moved in together after 1 year then bought a house 3 months later. Three months after that we started having 'if we get married in the future' kind of conversations and within about 2 weeks in DHs inimitable style he phones me up one afternoon at work and asks me my ring size. I said I have no idea and why and he said he was going ring shopping that afternoon
I talked him down from that ledge lol and that weekend we went ring shopping together. I picked a few I liked and left it up to DH to choose which one he liked best. And I love the one he picked it is so right for me.
We had to wait for it to be sized and when he got it I came home to a glass of champagne and he got down on one knee and asked if I would do him the honour of being his wife we got married 3 months later and we celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary on the 30th.
